If Dallas wins the Super Bowl this year, is there a chance Wade retires and Garrett takes over the reigns? I honestly would NOT want this to happen just because how amazing our defense is playing and how they're finally buying into the system, but do you think it is a possibility?

I think Jerry would do anything and everything to keep things intact for at least 1 more year

remember....does not Jerry Host the Super bowl in 2011........he would do most anything for a repeat in his own stadium......

Great point. Another thread makes a good point that Garrett will be a very hot name in the offseason for a head coaching position. Hopefully Jerry keeps everyone together for one more year!

I don't think Wade will quit coaching until he has to for health reasons or simply can't get a job anymore. He really enjoys what he's doing.

No chance. We can replace Garrett. We can't replace Wade. Defensive coordinators are worth more than OCs. Offense depends more on having good personel and defense more on playcalling/gameplanning.

Good coaching goes a long way, but if you dont have a certain talent level it doesnt matter how good a coach you are.

Jimmy Johnson was an exceptional coach. He once went 1-15. Tom Landry once had a winless season. Chuck Noll was once 1-13.

We have a great situation here. We have talent and bright coaches. I dont want to lose either of them to be honest.

I think that if Dallas goes deep into the playoffs, say in the Super Bowl, then Wade stays for one more year, and Garrett is told the team is his in 2011. At three million, he isn't going anywhere. Besides, he can learn a lot from Phillips. Well, maybe he can learn a little from Wade.

Here's what Jerry should do:

* Keep everyone here for one more year as is.
* If the Cowboys meet/exceed expectations for next year, extend WP and JG
* Put in JG's contract that he will be guaranteed to be the next HC as soon as WP's contract is up or if he retires

This way, we effectively have JJ as head coach, Wade as the DC and JG as the OC for a while.

It is my hope that if we win the SB, that wade won't retire but steps down as HC to just be the DC. Yes I know how unrealistic that is, but I'm still hoping for it.

This is my sentiments. It might just work out too because the headcoaching market appears to be drying up.

I fear that aswell, but I believe Jerry will go to good ol' Wade and say "10M, one more season" guarantee to JG that he will be the next HC.
