Ok guys, here it is. In all of its glory. Im gonna get ragged on for it but i dont really care. the 2104-15 offseason saw thread after thread about AP becoming a Cowboy. I dont see him back in Minnesota. He is a free agent. If we could bring him in at a VERY big discount and team friendly deal. Would you? Can you imagine a 2 back set with AP and EE back there? Maybe im just losing my mind. Or maybe i just want to see AP wearing a star before he retires, but that thought coupled with some additions on defense in the draft and a WR with some speed would put us up there as contenders for a few years. What do y'all think?

If we could somehow pick him up for pennies and he was more than okay with a limited/3rd down role, absolutely. But probably unlikely.

the only value I see AP having for the Cowboys is the $$ JJ would get from jersey sales. This board was fascinated with the faint prospect of us signing AP but that was a long time ago, well before Zeke & Co.

No I wouldn't touch him. But let's talk about where will AP really play next year? I could see it being a good signing for the Browns but I really think Lacy or AP is a Patriot next year.

At the risk of losing Dunbar? Not a chance!

I don't see much value with AP at this point especially given age and recent injury history. We have a young stud.. capable back ups. Just not appealing at all. Not the same AP. ... not even close..

AP isn't worth 3.2 YPC. He's done

And lose the legend known as Dunbar, no way. That guys sees a TD every time he gets the ball. He is so worth the roster spot.

AP, in very limited action, didn't show well when he did get to play. I don't know that anybody could have realistically expected much from him once he returned (he did rush his return, IIRC). But even before he got hurt he wasn't putting up anything great (or even good), numbers-wise. It is for all those reasons that I think he might be a good signing if the team chose to go that route. Let me explain: He won't command big money if he leaves Minny for other pastures. He'll likely be looking for an opportunity to win a championship over money. I certainly think he'll be in better shape and perform better with some more recovery time and he'll have a dominating line to open holes for him. He'll also be used sparingly in a reserve role behind Zeke, so the wear on an old body (by NFL standards) will be minimal. He could be a valuable piece if used sparingly and wisely. Do I think he has a good chance to be a Cowboy next year? No...there are too many moving pieces. Would I sign him if I could? Yes, given that he shows well in a physical and workout. We'll see.
