With talks between the Cowboys and Ware being prolonged, would ya'll be opposed to trading up for Clowney, IF, we part with Ware?

I know we'd give up some picks, but that's a top-shelf DE that only comes so often. Fill in one of our needs, aswell.

Re-sign Hatch and Spenc.

I'm on record for offering a kidney to get Clowney, but not for an undisclosed number of picks. We need a sizable infusion of talent into the defensive line, but we should not sacrifice future draft prospects in doing so.

Spencer's on his way out. Hatcher? His coming back will depend on how much interest he nets from other suitors.

That would be awesome, but we'd have to be prepared to give up RGIII-style draft picks, which I'm not prepared to do. We have far too many holes, and too many aging players to be giving away draft picks.

no, no no no no no no no no no. is that enough no's?

this defense was one of the worst in history. do you think one player is going to make all the difference to put this team over the top? and what would it cost to get clowney? probably a lot, so that means less pieces around him. do you want to tell me clowney is better than ware was when younger? ware had no support and despite his gaudy stats, the defense still sucked.

and see seattle's defense. although people rave about their secondary, their DL is a platoon of really good players who come at you.

I would not make any trade to get clowny unless he falls past teens...

Uhh.. There's definitely a chance. Lets not act like Clowney is just your avg. DE.

a lot of hype, with a lot of red flags. a type of player that turns it off and on when he wants to and doesn't show the work ethic necessary to succeed. now, with that said people will argue, once in the pros, coached, and its his life and has the money he will change. but how many times have we seen that. everyone in the NFL is talented. about 100-150 of the best college players stick in the NFL every year. the ones that succeed, do their homework, work hard, study film, show passion for the game. there are a lot of top 10 talent in the draft, none of them "saved" themselves for the draft and the money, which kind of reminds me of Albert Haynesworth.

Look up what Washington gave up to get RG3. To move up from 16 to the top 5 would require this years 1st, next years 1st plus some more.

I don't think it would take as much this year because RG3 had much more buzz around him and, this draft is much deeper. You are going to get really good quality players deep in this draft but who really knows?

Your point is valid for sure though.

I think Clowney has bust written all over him. He has the talent, but I don't think he has the work ethic to separate himself from the pack. I think he'll be out of the league in 4 years.

Yes, but the Skins only moved from #6 to #2. The Cowboys would be moving all the way from #16.

It's still seems hard to believe that the Skins gave up so much to move 4 spots. HAha.

Some picks? Really? SOME picks???

Try a 1st and 2nd this year, a 1st and a 2nd, in 2015, and another first in 2016.

I understand it's the offseason, and this is purely hypothetical, but some things are too outlandish to even think about.
