Say we are on the clock at 28 and Taco is there - Have been hearing that he is very similar to Justin Tuck coming out of school - we take him. Now, he's a left end but if he is a Tuck clone that settles that. Now we are on the clock again at 60, and we haven't got a RE yet and Tarrel Bashim (Ohio) is there, would you double up and take another DE ? Knowing that he is a RDE, or is that too much.
And if it was at all possible, now what corners are left bottom of third round. (Romo pick maybe an extra 3rd)...
Not saying we should, just a hypothetical .... and what would that do to the rest of our draft.

If we were to do that I would be looking for a S and a CB with the two 3rd rd picks.

Basham's really climbing. I thought he'd be a day three pick just a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, if both are BPA then do it.

Not happening BPA being a DE/Edge in the second round unless a Tunsil moment happens to multiple prospects . After out pick at 28 two more teams need Edge guys in the first rd. I see the next round of talent after the first wave being Jourdan Willis,Tarell Basham, Trey Hendrickson, and Tanoh Kpassagnon in the third rd frenzy.
The way the draft is starting to coalesce we get the most bang for our value with picking DE in first(if a edge talent drops a little to us) and DB/S in the second. If there is a run on DE's in the first we just got hit in the mouth and need a new plan on these second tier edge talent.
DB/S talent this year is a rich pool also so we can come out this draft with some awesome talent with little help from the draft gods.
QB's will rise like they do each year compared to how the media has the draft playing out in Feb, they have some idealized thought that BPA applies to that position while not accounting for all the FO people that are dependent on a franchise QB bringing them security. Dak was the lottery for our FO make no mistake, teams again will be desperate to get a QB that can legitimize their philosophy on offense once again this year. Dak is going to make it fashionable to reach for QB talent in 2017 as the result was clearly rubbed in their faces during the 2016 season for all the owners/fans to see.
Xwalker how do you have the Edge talent rated in the first rd?

Could also be Tanoh at our pick in the second.
I wouldn't be opposed to taking two DEs if we were somehow able to garner an extra high pick for Romo

No problem taking DE in RD1 and RD2. We have only one certainty at DE in David Irving.

I've been contemplating a similar scenario, but with CB. Let's say Marlon Humphrey slips through and we take him in RD1.

Then we get to round 2 thinking Kpassagnon or Basham or Watt or Willis would be around but the DEs are kind of picked clean. Even Ryan Anderson and Demarcus Walker are gone.

Here's our board (in order)...

CB--Chidobe Awuzie
CB--Jourdan Lewis
S--Eddie Jackson
CB--Adoree Jackson
DT--Jarron Jones
TE--Bucky Hodges
WR--Zay Jones
CB--Cam Sutton
RB--Donta Foreman
DE--Daeshon Hall
LB--Anthony Walker Jr
OL--Antonio Garcia
TE--Jake Butt
CB--Rasul Douglas
DE--Dawuane Smoot
DT--Chris Wormley
S--Obi Melifonwu
WR--Malachi Dupree
LB--Duke Riley
WR--Amara Darboh
OT--Taylor Moton
DE--Derek Rivers
DT--Davon Godchaux
TE--Evan Engram
DE--Vince Biegel
OL--Dorian Johnson
WR--Curtis Samuel
OL--Pat Elfin
WR--Isaiah Ford

CB is the clear BPA. Do you double up at CB, especially knowing you can probably still find one in RD3 or 4? Reach a bit for DE Hall? Fill 1-tech with Jones? Spend 2nd on another guy coming off injury in Jackson?

I'll take jones in that scenario even if I took Harris in Rd 1
