I know he didn't exactly storm off, but he isn't allowing any stupidity right now. Told the press that TO is sucking them in and that TO is hearing EVERYTHING he is saying and could quote it 3 weeks later. He says this is the time of year to up the intensity and acted like sitting there with the questions he was getting was a big waste of time.
This is exactly what the team needs. He BELIEVES in their ability to do something now and he is going to do whatever he can to keep the team focussed.
I love it. Sends an awesome message albeit a minor one. I thought the Gramatica/Vanderjagt move was amazing and gutsy as well, not because it paid off last week either. It said that the organization will kick your arse off the team even if you have a huge successful history and got a big fat contract, UNLESS you produce.
The roster churning is awesome as well. Parish fills a hole since Davis isn't likely to get any better and Watkins obviously hit a wall and probably has a confidence problem at this point. Another true veteran RB might be good for emergencies and the team is looking at that.
This is where Parcells experience and his intensity is gonna pay off. If anyone can keep the players focussed at this time, I think we have the coach to do it.
This team needs to ratchet it up one more notch from consistent and move the mood up to downright nasty and scary. We need to go out and smack a team or two solidly in the mouth now. Really make a statement and get teams a little more worried about playing us. A bye and some home games should be the expectation and no longer a pipe dream. Great turn around, now the Cowboys control their own destiny in division and it starts with getting the edge over New Orleans.
