Teddy Williams, I remember a lot of guys on the zone were excited about his potential. He had a decent preseason and as a track star displayed his speed. Towards the end of the season he was bumped up to the active roster from the practice squad. He was also switched from corner to receiver which is quite a crowded position. Once football starts, where do you see this guy's future heading?

I see him on the practice squad again this season. Miles, Roy and Dez are obviously locks. Then after that you've got Hurd, Ogletree, Holley, Dwayne Harris, Manny Johnson and guys like Titus Ryan and Troy Burgenon Sp? He's gonna really have to stick out in camp to make the roster. Im pulling for him though.

Coach Campo called Teddy over one day after practice in San Antonio and introduce me to him.....Coach said, "let me introduce you to a really nice player" .....and wow....he was yes sir....no sir....the entire conversation.

Go Teddy Williams!

Hurd's a free agent and is expected to be leaving.

Go Teddy Williams!

that dont help you on the field. And fans never remember how you conduct yourself when you score TD's for them.

I'd like to see move back to CB. I don't see him making the 53 at either position.

This is what I hope happens. Cowboys move him back to cornerback, and Rob Ryan gets ahold of this kid, not campo but rob ryan?

Why? Rob Ryan's strength is developing cornerbacks or safeties. Rob did that his first year at assistant coaching with the cardinals way back when.

Best to my knowledge, rob found a.... the great cb for the raiders, and helped develop other cbs too.

If rob ryan can get ahold of this kid, with his size, and speed, could be the steal of the century.

and our best free agent we signed since a drew pearson, cliff harris, everson walls, etc...

With his size, if has any God given talent, and pure football ability and instincts, this kid could be a shut down cb in time.

I like this scenario, but do you think he can beat out guys like McCann,Ball and even Josh Thomas? Personally, I do like McCann a lot so I hope its not him.

He can beat out ball, and probably josh thomas, but only way it will work, lockout is ended soon, and you can get about 2-3 weeks of mini camp or OTAs before training camp. Then, rob ryan has seen some talent from teddy williams and works with him some, going into training camp.

If he is moved from wr position back to cb, (he only got moved there because of injuries to wr position), then he has a change, reportedly, teddy williams says he ran a 4.26, and 9.90 something in the 100 meters, which is extremely fast for long distance. Sure, he is behind the learning curve, but I believe in rob ryan, and at his size about 6-2, 198, he is way bigger than mccan who reportedly ran the 40 in 4.38.

We still need newman, if we keep him, scandrick, jenkins, mccann, thing to remember in some games, rob ryan had as many as 6 dbs playing in coverages with linebackers, at some times in the game no defensive linemen that i could see, but dbs and linebackers to fool the QB, thats what the patriots use to do when playing against peyton manning. I see sensabaugh making the team, ansah, at safety, and maybe ball.

If we could sneak him one more year onto practice squad, would be well worth the wait if we have to. But again, rob ryan's strength is defensive backs developing them and young linebackers. Remember, Rob Ryan helped develop teddy bruschi and the other one that plays for the chiefs now, that got traded from the patriots.

Thats why we got carter in the draft, rob ryan and his super linebackers coach wanted a linebacker that can cover deep, while blitzing too, etc...

I just dont trust campo. I think to a degree he is coasting, since coming back to the cowboys.

I agree with every word of this.

I see him making the 53 if moved back to cb, and rob ryan works with him, not campo. Thats why i want the lockout to end, so you can get 2 to 3 weeks of mini camp or OTAs before training camp starts, so rob ryan sees this kids talent and works with him.

Go back and look at how rob ryan developed cbs, safeties, at arizona and oakland. Thats rob ryan strenghts. I dont trust campo teaching skills.

If campo teaches teddy williams, he is sunk in my estimation or if they leave him at wr. I talked to a guy that watched him play wr at high school and said nothing really stood out playing wise at wr position. But with his speed, talent, size, if has any instincts, skill, rob ryan can bring it out at cb in my mind or thoughts.

Rob Ryan has alot of coaching to do outside of Teddy Williams but measurables say whether it be CB, WR or just STs, get the 6ft3 - 4.2 guy on the field if you can.

I like McCann a lot too. Everyone rightly talks about his return skills, but when he did have to play CB, he didn't embarrass himself at all. I remember one game where he had to play because of injuries and he showed up real nice.

I think Thomas is going to surprise a lot of people on here too. The guy has some skills and in the swagger department, he is chock full of piss and vinegar. IMO, he has exactly what it takes to play corner for Rob Ryan.

After Thomas playing CB for four years in college, I don't see any way Teddy Williams comes in and out plays a fiery guy like Thomas who knows what he's doing when lined up against WR's... just because Williams can run fast.

Thomas knows how to play corner and Williams is currently a WR, no way Teddy knocks Thomas off the roster. Remember, Rob Ryan will be coaching Thomas too, and unless I'm mistaken, Thomas is a guy Ryan really wanted Dallas to draft. Josh is a mean little SOB and exactly the type of tough guy Ryan wants on his team. Williams is polite to fans.

Right now, Thomas is a hard nosed football player and Williams is a project who runs fast.

I'd love to see Ryan do something with Williams because he has the tools to do it... but I see it as the longest of long shots.

I agree there. I'd like to see him on the practice squad one more year to see if he might develop under Ryan.

And I'm definitely with you on that one!

I'm sorry, but I don't know why Teddy williams was signed as a FA anyway? The guy hadn't played football in quite some time, and it would have served us well to resign Cletus Gordan after week two to the non guaranteed veteran deal, IMO. I mean, we went into the season with only 3 cb's. Last season was just a joke and I am looking forward to JG getting the 'Boys back to actually practicing like they want to win football games.

Thomas will be used like bill bates was at linebacker/db coverage. If you look at thomas stats, skills he was good at jam, tackling, while not getting his hands on the ball very much, but very nasty in tackling, blitzing etc.. Exactly what rob ryan plans to do i think with thomas, in coverages and tackling, when rob ryan has more than 4 dbs on the field.

Because not too many people on this planet are blessed with his physical skills. He also came off as being football savvy playing cb in preseason (and showing pretty well) when his background in highschool was wr.
