I am convinced it is NOT the players

If you look at how Dallas has played in December since Parcells has arrived...it is no question that the results point to scheme/game plan.

Here is why....by December everyone has shown everyone what they are and what they do. So offensive coordinators (especially good ones) must salivate when they see us on film I mean guys are having career days against us. The Lions set season's high against us. We are too easy to attack......PLAIN AND SIMPLE. And sure we could stand to have improved play from some of our personell...BUT I REFUSE to believe that we have some of the worst personell in the NFL...becasue like I said, when you have guys setting career highs against you week in and week out, then something on film is looking real good to the opposition.

My conclusion is that Parcells cannot take this team any farther than he has. He HAS TO GO. He is to set in his ways. He is not going to add an innovative mind to his coaching staff. He does not inimidate the Andy Reid's and Sean Payton's of the NFL....Mike Martz made him look like a high school coach today. He simply is NO MATCH for the young offensive minds in this game

Lastly, the inability to run the ball is another reason the Parcells mystique is taking a big hit in Dallas. Truth be told I DO NOT CARE WHAT THE NUMBERS SAY....we have never really run the ball with any consistency since Parcells has arrived. And that has really thrwarted his ability to work his magic

Agreed.
This game is won or lost in the trenches.
Based on his drafting and free agent pick ups,Parcells gets a big fat F.
He has neglected the O line and his drafting eye for talent up front(Peterman,Rogers,Spears,Pettiti) tells me that he is working with an obsolete philosophy.
You get a dominant front and you will win.
Instead,he has used draft picks on LBs and TEs(he sure loves those).
Ware is the only one of impact.Fasano in the second round?
Speed kills and we lack speed.Tuna boy likes size.
It showed today why speed is better than size.

I can't buy it any longer...today we had a pass rush and lots of pressure...our secondary couldn't cover anyone...I don't see that as the coach's problem.

Aside from Ware and Coleman I really did not see pressure. I did see increased pressure, but only by a few. yes, you are correct that our secondary coudln't cover anyone. That has been a continuing problem. And the pass rush. And the big plays against our defense.

I saw the pocket collapsing in Kitna's face all game long...Coleman had a sack, Bowman had a sack, Bowman drilled him as he released the ball twice, Canty drilled him on the overthrow to Williams behind Newman...he was chased from the pocket at least half a dozen times...I think this was our best and most consistant pressure of the year.

Kitna didn't have that much time...our secondary and LB's just sucked all game.

Kitna had all day in the second half.

I think Parcells made a huge mistake by keeping Zimmer....although hindsight is 20/20. We've changed schemes, personnel, head coaches, and greatly improved our offense....yet that still results in a defense that can't sack the QB and fizzles in the second half of each season. It did it under Campo and now under Parcells. We are very versatile and creative with our offense for the most part, but incredibly dull and bland on defense. So I'm leaning towards believing that the defensive problems aren't Parcells, but more likely Zimmer's clueless ineptitude. But, I could be wrong on that.

Hopefully Crennel gets fired and Dallas hires him and then we can tell if this was Parcells or Zimmer's doing. But I think we should put the 4-3 defense is better to rest. It was god awful in 2004 and it gave up a ton of points and yards today. So color me unimpressed with the change to the 4-3 today.

All I know they better go back and use that game plan they used against the Colts or something real similar, create a agressive game plan for the playoffs and I talking mostly defensively.:star:

Kitna had all day in the second half. Even on the Coleman sack, that was a coverage sack. Not to mention Detroit's offense uses a ton of 7 step dropback patterns and their O-Line is bad and banged up. And most of the times he was chased out of the pocket was due to him not being able to find anybody for awhile and then scrambling to make a play....not because of pressure.

I'll take the pressure they gave him in the first half, but the pressure in the second half was a joke.

The coaches are the main culprits, but the players are to blame as well.

They play as if they have no pride, this team has shown no heart at all, it is a damn embarassment.

I wish someone in the media would say something very intulsting about Dallas, or maybe the Seahawks could guarantee a victory against us, maybe that way the players might actually grow SOME heart and get some sense of pride about them.

I don't think in all my years have I seen a playoff team go in and play their last 2 regular season games the way these Cowboys have.

You never would've known they were going to the playoffs by watching them the last 2 games, they looked like our 5-11 Campo teams, like a team playing out the string so they can get this thing over with.

It is that body language that gives me absolutely no hope that they can beat anyone in the playoffs, to me it looks like the Cowboys have already given up.

I can't say it isn't the players. Our LB's and Secondary do not play very well. Both groups are slow, except for Newman and Ware.

I really hope Jerry Jones reads that.

What we need to do is play to win the game. We play so tight, so reserved, so freaking predictable that we don't take advantage of our big LBs, or our stud DE or fat *** playmaking tackles. We need to stop trying to keep the game close and win in the 4th quarter and end the game in the 3rd. We have the weapons on offense to do it, and have the propensity and pedigree to enforce our will on defense. If we could only...if HE would only give a little...

You sound like me 2 years ago, but I just came to accept that Parcells is who he is and he won't change.

The only hope of us becoming more aggressive is for another coach to take over.

You're probably right. With the tuna's system we will win more games than we lose, but we won't enough to get a ring. His system will tease us enough to keep us in the seats and online for the whole season but never bring victories in Dec, or Jan.

You're absolutely right, and that's why I want him gone.

We'll always be a team that hovers around 10-6 and nothing more as long as he is here.

So besides Ware and Coleman combining for 4 sacks you didn't enough pressure.

Do that all year and we're number one in the league in sacks.

I didn't say our personell is blameless....but when every December we tank like this....and we see Detroit score their season high...or we see Roy Williams have his 1st multi TD game of the season.......or #87 looked like the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice...something tells me that Mike Martz, like Seasn Payton and Andy Reid and whoever was calling the plays for the Giants etc...see's something on film that they like very much. Their playmakers are getting singled up...their playmakers are open in space....there really is no defense for anyone on the NFL level when it is one on one...and the offense knows where they are are going but the defense does not...you really cannot defend that....take the TD Shockey caught in the first Giants game in Dallas...he ran straight at Roy...Roy had not choice but to guess which way Shockey was going...he guessed wrong...TD. Had he waited for Shockey to make his move and then reacted...he still would have been beat. So the question remains..how do other teams create these matchups and get this type of spacing? Like I said, they see something on film they like very much. And it has happend late in every season Parcells has been here. That my friends can no longer be ignored
