since pacman will be brought in to play nickel corner...i think he will be used on offensive as well as in the return game...i think we will design several gadget plays to get the ball in his hands....he may turn out to be our wow player yet! maybe jerry had this in mind the whole time....you cant tell me that he wont light things up on offensive if we find ways to get him the ball...the guy is amazing in the open field...the beautiful thing about it is this. We can use the guy wherever we want because we dont need him...we already have two starting corners...they will be able to just throw him out there in whatever capacity they want...nickel corner, in the return game, and however they want to on offense...i can see jason garrett's mind working as we speak....

If he was good at running routes and catching passes he would be playing WR not CB.... something to think about.

I could see some packages for him, maybe a reverse here and there. However, if we trade for Roy or Ocho (which rumors say we are interested), I really dont see many pass plays for Pac when you have possibly TO, Ocho/RoyW, Crayton, and Witten.

Can't we wait-and-see if he can behave long enough to play in a regular season game before getting too hyped up? I know Goodell would agree.

So you're saying he will take the role Isaiah Stanback is suppose to play? ;)

When you have as much fire power as the Cowboys now possess, you don't have to stoop to gadgetry.

But I'll wait until if/when PacMan is a Cowboy before I comment on his role. I think the old folks say that discussion is getting the cart before the horse. ;)

Why do you assume he'd be the third CB? Personally, I feel he's much more talented and reliable than Henry is. I'd like for Newman and Jones to start, if we do in fact get Pacman.

I don't think he'd be the Nickel CB. Henry would be. He excels in free space more while Pacman can play tighter coverage. Plus the Nickel is more important in run support sometimes and Henry is much better at that than either Newman or Pacman. It could also be that whichever one is hobbled a bit could be the Nickel guy for that given game.

If we do get Pacman and anyone besides him is returning punts I will be pissed. Excitement in our return game would make me happy. Then we'd only have to worry about tackling on our coverage teams.

what are the odds that Pac Man will even be reinstated this season? 50-50?

95-5 if I had to guess. What current reason would there be? If he isn't, it is a vendetta by the Commish and I don't see him as that type. It is very unlikely he won't be unless there is a skeleton none of us don't know about because the media doesn't.

The odds go down if he screws up between now and when the Commish decides to rule on it.

His contributions in the return game will be as noticeable as anything he does on defense IMO.

He is talented enough to be a complete utility type player......get him in space and he is gone.

Well, he will be the 3rd CB - but not the nickel corner.

My understanding was that Newman goes inside on the slot in our nickel package - with Henry and Reeves playing outside.

So, I'm guessing it would be Henry - Newman - Pacman on the nickel?

Yes after taking over a year off and biding his time by wrestling and various other noble activities he should be in great shape to step right in and play cb, pr and wr.

Sure. Why not pencil him in as romo's backup since he apparently has increased his skills since being kicked out of the league.

Well, there is a story on DC.com about pacman. I doubt the official website would run a story like that without JJ knowing. I think they are just sensitizing fans to the fact that Pacman will be on our team next fall. I am happy though, he fills two needs.

How bout this.. Start Newman and Pac at CB.. Henry FS and Hamlin SS.. Sit Roy down, trade him or whatever.. The First round pick would be the Nickel corner..

Just my 2 cents, If we get Jones at CB then Jerry is going to send those two first round picks wherever he has to, to move up and get McFadden.

Then we have CB and RB covered, there's no 1st round talent WRs where we are picking anyway so its pointless staying at 22 & 28 with Pac Man on board.

We can pick up a serviceable WR in the 2nd (If we still have one), and see how Glenn feels, and Stanback progresses.

I wish people would realize that this is not Madden and that RW is not going anywhere.

I'm resigned to the fact that we'll have to deal with this topic yet again in 2008.

yeah but it gets tiring hearing about RW getting traded or cut when it is not going to happen. Hell, he will still be starting next year.
