What do I know about James Dixon? I remember the game vs Arizona. Aikman threw a long pass to James Dixon for a TD. Troy got knocked TFU and didn't even see the TD. We were ahead then in the fourth quarter. We played prevent on D. Everson Walls gave up the TD. Jimmy and Everson had a fallout then. I was so mad at Everson also.

I remember when Eddie LeBarron was Qb and he wasn't throwing a football. They didn't have footballs back then. They used big rocks. Helmets? Pfft. They had little paper hats and all that was for was to soak up the blood. See, back then knives were legal in the game. Bet you youngun's didn't know that did ya. no.

I remember when Bob hayes was the fastest human in the world and they changes the rules because of him. They allowed defensive backs to use scooters to cover him.

So if anybody's driving this bandwagon it's either me or CBZ!

Much props to the older Cowboy fans, but unfortunately I was in elementary school when Danny White took over the team, so didn't have a chance to follow Roger. I remember going to Valley View Mall to Danny White's autograph signing, while kids were going to the arcade. I think I also met Mike Saxon, the punter back then. lol. So while my fellow elementary classmates were coloring and playing kickball. I was reading up the Dallas Morning News and Dallas Times Herald to get my up-to-date Cowboy news. Unfortunately we did not have the internet back then. Didn't have cable back in the days, so I listened to the draft on the radio. I loved draft days b/c we usually had a high pick.

I have been following my boys since my elementary days, so you can only imagine how it felt for me when the Boys won the first Superbowl in the 90s.

Heartbreak.............that's a relative thing............

It's been a good life being a Cowboy fan since 1965, I'll tell you that. "Heartbreak" for a Cowboy fan is a lot different than "heartbreak" is for a Saints fan..............

"PAINFULL" is getting the Star tattooed on you left calf muscle, like I did years ago. And getting it freshened up ever couple years!! THAT'S Painfull!! That's a lot of blue and silver needles pounding away for a few hours.

Anyway, it always strikes me as odd the Cowboy fans who distress and whine about Jerry letting Landry go. Then, rejoicing over the three Rings that resulted in Jerry's decisions.
This is Professional tackle football. And all the results proved Jerry Jones right. Ya'all got three rings out of it, as uncomfortable and queezy as you may have felt about the "icon" Landry getting the boot.
Listen, I love Tom Landry. Everyone loved Tom Landry. Can't say a bad word about him and I respect and appreciate all the greatness that he built and brought to Dallas. But, I seriously doubt that those 90's rings would be in place if Jerry didn't do what he did.
We'll never know of course. All I know, is that those Championships are history and written in NFL eternity. PERIOD. End of story. It's a tough game of numbers and dollars. And for all the crap that Jerry gets, he brought championships back to Dallas...........from the ash-heap by they way. He, like he said he would, restored Dallas back to where they belonged, at the TOP!! How he did it or why he did it, I don't care. I just want to see the baby, no matter how it's delivered. And, Jimmy Johnson or no Jimmy Johnson, if it weren't for free agency and salary cap and parity measures of the mid-90's, Dallas may have won 5 or 6 rings with that crew.

I'll stick to the same old mindset I have always had which is we have a better chance than some. I like what I see from this team and if they continue we clearly have a legit shot at getting to the show for a record 9 times.

I remember listening to the Cowboys lose to the Packers on the radio through a haze of staticy fuzz on Christmas Eve 1989 while my family ate in another room.
 
I've been around from the beginning, I remember getting hammered by Green Bay and watching Jim Brown break attempted tackles from all 11 Cowboy defenders on just one run for a TD in a Championship game.

Heartbreak look at my user name, its the name the media gave use because no matter how good we were in the regular season, we always lost in the game that mattered the most. It was a insult of sorts because we were always Next years Champions.

I've enjoyed all the rides and gave my advice when all the tires were flat LOL! And I'm going to enjoy this one as well. This is a good team and we haven't played a complete game yet, I hope we do in the playoffs but either way I be watching.
 
Man, why did you guys have to go and rehash every bad memory in our history. Hell, I've spent the last 30 years trying to forget all that heartache.

I'm great at remembering the good things and forgetting the bad ones. Now let me go back to my neurotic state of bliss. :laugh2:

I haven't noticed any new bandwagoners at work or when I go out.

Now when the Mavericks were making their ultimately unsuccessful title run a few years ago, they were everywhere.
