I am starting to wonder if Johnny is coming to Dallas

I have noticed the boys expanding their DL and OL options for later rounds. The more I hear about the fifth year option, I am starting to think Jerry is inching to deal for the Johnny Football. Personally, I want Barr, Donald or a WR. I just know Jerry is in love...

Jerry is in "win now" mode so I doubt Manziel is going to happen. I love watching the kid play but I don't know if he can withstand 16 NFL games getting smacked around. If we suck and have a top 5 pick next year Hundley might be a target then.

The reason they are exploring later round DLs is because that is where the value is in this draft. I do think JFB puts $$ signs in Jerry's eyes though.

Sure, we've got 4 QB's now, why not use a 1st on a QB??

Because the only one that can play at a competent level for 16 games is 34 and coming off his 2nd back surgery.

I am just saying that they seem to be preparing for life without Orton already by signing two back-ups...why would they do that if they intended to ALSO be in the market for a guy that would be their #2 QB presumably? I know that you need TC arms and all that, but a QB in the draft would be nuts

Because the draft is not about a short term approach. Manziel is not being drafted to be the #2 behind Romo next season, he'd be drafted to be our guy for the next decade after Romo's gone. Again, our QB is 34 and coming off 2 back sugeries. We have nothing waiting in the wings in terms of a real franchise QB option. If they think Manziel is that guy, it makes a lot of sense to draft him.

Jerruh will never really change; he has always been the wildcatter; the gambler. He still loves his shiny toys. The best Stephen and Red Ball can probably do is talk him out of trading up for JF. But if he is there at 16 we take him. I have no doubt of that.

Maybe Jerruh pulls a Ricky Williams and trades the entire draft away. Always a possibility with Jerruh in "Let's make a splash mode" during draft day.
Manziel will be a top 10 pick, IMO. But, if JM or Teddy B. are there around 13/14 I would hope the Cows make a play to move up a spot or 2.

If Manziel lands in the 7 to 10 range, a trade could become relatively affordable. I still think that Houston will take him. Well, let me back up. If Houston had any sense they would take him (which I'm not sure they do). It's the only way anyone will ever care about their team.

Can we just make 1 Manziel thread and have everybody bicker in there? The same thread is made on a pretty much daily basis and we are still 2 weeks away from the draft

I don't think that is true at all. His actions have told us that he knows we are many players away from really contending. He wouldn't have released Ware if he was in "win now" mode and he probably would have resigned Hatcher as well.
