A friend and I are traveling to NY to watch the game this Sunday night. We are flying into LaGaurdia airport on Saturday afternoon.
I have never been to MetLife Stadium or even to New York for that matter. The sole purpose of the trip is to fly in on Sat, watch the game on Sunday, and fly out on Monday.

We have not made hotel reservations yet. We were hoping a friend would come through with information on were the Cowboy players team hotel is but he has not yet. If anyone has this info please share!

Any advice on the stadium and tailgating or pre-game stuff is greatly appreciated. We plan to Uber over to the stadium.
Any other advice and/or tips are welcome.

Make sure you end up in New Jersey, where they play.

I'm sorry you have to go to New Jersey.

RxMan I am envious. I have never been to an away game for the Cowboys. I hope the gmen fans treat you well. Please share your game day experience when you return. I have always wondered what a trip like that would set you back. If it does not make you feel uncomfortable please let me know the approximate cost. I am sure being in New Jersey it will cost a pretty penny. Go Cowboys

Thanks for all of this 'information'! :)

I used airline points for my flight and spent $300 for my ticket to the game. Still waiting on the hotel stuff.

Stay in the city, that will be half the fun. You can airbnb an entire 2 bed apt in Manhattan for $200 / night. Downtown is more fun, but seeing midtown at Christmas is worth it (at least once). Mobbed though.

Haven't tailgated - but local fans are relatively harmless, nothing like Philly or Boston.

Looks like the Giants stay at the Hyatt in Jersey City- I would not advise staying there ;), or anywhere on that side of the river.

The stadium is nice - I have a friend who is a Giants season ticket holder and sold me tickets to the Cowboys games in years when the G-Men were bad.

The fans are decent people. Unlike Philly for example, you won't have problems if you wear your jersey to the game.

As others have said, North Jersey is both a dump and expensive. If you have time though definitively visit NYC. Not my favorite city but one you absolutely have to visit - has a cool vibe.

I live in NYC and totally agree. You'll have zero problems at the stadium unless you go out of your way to pick a fight with someone.

The cheapest way to do it would be to stay in NJ (and actually fly into Newark), and then just take the train into the city for fun. You should map out routes to the stadium - you can get there using public transportation.

Should be a good experience.

Oh, man. You have to try and make an away game next season. They're so much fun. I've been to SD, SF, Seattle, St. Louis, and Cleveland. I plan on going to Philly next season if it's early (I don't want snowballs thrown at me).

First, good call on the Uber. As far as tailgating, I'd say just walk around and find some Cowboys fans. I've never been there, but I'm sure you'll find some. In Cleveland, I just bought beer and walked around with my case in hand. I don't think the NY fans are that bad from what I've heard. I'd recommend getting a hotel near the stadium.
