With the members of this board. I haved gotten ran off another board that I will not name, because I never say eye to eye with many of the posters. But I am suprised that so many of you saw what I saw. Blaming Bledsoe is easy, and has plenty of merit. But the play of this top 5 defense was just atrocious. Against guys I have NEVER EVEN HEARD OF. And I see a lot of you recognize what I see. Our approach to defensive football is archaic, simplisitc, and a waste of talent, draft picks and double digit signing bonuses. I repeat a point I made in another thread, the 3-4 should NOT have been our base defense today. The Eagles don't and can't run the football.

I read another post that also made me smile. Someone pointed out that good teams with good coaching staffs can out gameplan us all day long. Which mean we MIGHT be good enough to go 10-6 and make the playoffs, but that will be it.

It seems to me that Zimmer may have been right in wanting the 4-3. It would have been perfect today. Today the 3-4 gave up huge plays, some longer than 80 YARDS!!!!!!

Dang, I think BP is done. I appreciate that he brought a professionalism to the team that was missing since Jimmy Johnson, and hopefully made Jerruh understand he knows nothing, absolutely nothing about player/personell. But I think the game is different now, he still plays "Shottenheimer" football. Conservative, cautious, so as to avoid losing. Which always leads to losing, but they still do it.

what's ironic about that is Parcells wants his players to play fast, he says he wants them to play nasty...BUT when the gameplan is a gameplan predicated on not losing AS OPPOSED to winning..that signals that the coach is not coaching nasty. I saw Andre Gurode pick up a defensive lineman after a play in the 4th quarter. I know there is no middle ground on a move like this. Some people despise that. While there are others that think that is good sportsmanship. Unless he was picking Bledsoe up every time he got hit or dumped...I NEVER WANT TO SEE OUR OL pick a DL up. The Eagles play nasty....they want to rip your head off. I like having character guys, but can't they have character AND be lethal?
