I am 51 years old. I became a fan in 1977 when Roger, Tony, Drew were in their heyday. Roger was my very first sports hero. I was just 7 years old and just thought that we were supposed to win.
My 1st Cowboys game was week 15 against the Eagles in Philly in 1991 and the gangrene defense. We won and it was the start of the Jimmy Era.
I have been to the 92 title game against the Niners, the 92 game in La with 92k at the LA coliseum, the Dez catch game in the playoffs against the pack, the 3rd and 50 Rodgers completion against us in the playoffs, and many games in between.
Ive been a coach of one of the best softball teams in the nation. We lost at nationals and for the only time in my life I was seriously depressed locking myself in my hotel room for 4 days.
Trust me.. you need to enjoy the ride. I always told my teams, after my nationals mess up, that the game cant only be fun if we win. ENJOY the ride. I pray we win another SB this year. But if we dont, it wont erase the shear anger, excitement, and finally joy of tonight winning this game.
There is no guarantee that we win the SB this year.. but we have a legit shot. So take it from an old guy.. enjoy tis ride.
Im going to the Thanksgiving game and the Saints game the following week with my wife and daughters. NOTHING will be more fun for us in the next few months.
