I believe there will be a new CBA and there will be no time lost because of a lockout.
I believe that they will come to an agreement just before or on the deadline, or a few days maybe on week after the deadline.
But OTAs, minicamps etc and training camps will start on time.

That is waht I believe. The reason I believe this, is everyone that has something to do with getting the deal done, remembers what happen the last time there was a lockout and I just do not think that they will let it happen again.

I like the positive energy you bring to this forum tonight. Im still holding out hope that a new CBA happens soon.

Things are looking better than 2 weeks ago, that's for sure.

I believe in Santa Clause, The Easter Bunny and The Great Pumpkin.

But....I don't believe this.

Both sides know they are inevitably going to come to a resolution. And they both have a pretty good idea of the number they're going to agree upon. Everything in between is merely going to be typical posturing and media-driven sensationalized nonsense. Gives people something to talk about, drives up the NFL's stock even more, keeps their names in the headlines, etc.

The sport is so bad *** that despite Roger Goodell's best efforts, will continue to be a revenue generating monster. No chance that we won't be watching football on Sunday next year, the only thing coming out of this new CBA is going to be more football.

Not certain of this, but I'm very hopeful.

Made a post on this last week and as I see it, it's real simple.

The NFL will continue. A deal is going to happen.

So why let it take 1 week longer than it needs to and have a lock out?
Why have it take a few months longer than it has to and degrade the product on the field in 2011?
Why have it it take long enough to miss games, losing revenue and pay checks that will nver be recovered?

All of the above makes no sense.

So get in a room, understand who has the advantage (the owners) and come to an agreement both sides can live with.

But to make this happen, there has to be some real give and take.

The NFL can't have everything they want. Yes they have the hammer and if they want they let this drag out for months, they will eventually get everything.
No doubt in my mind it could play out that way. Union breaks or caves and the league gets it all.

Now on the players side they need to realize they're cooked. They've had it too good these past few years and the party's over. They have to make major consessions and that's all there is to it.

:laugh2: Well believe that the union itself is already using scare tactics a week before the deadline.

The league is showing the players new safety equipment tomorrow which is the players biggest bargaining chip, albeit real, their safety/long term health.

Players like Champ Bailey signing 4 year deals with no signing bonus but $11 million guaranteed for 4 years. He won't play more than 2 on that contract.

Manning, who currently is the largest player advocate, good reason is because his contract is up, is being promised the largest contract in the league once this gets done.

These are the indicators.

This is why a deal will get done.

i have said this multiple times on this forum

Well, I sure hope you guys are right. Life sucks bad enough without football in the usual offseason. I'll have to take up crack, meth or some other drug if I can't get my football fix from training camp through the Super Bowl.

Any way, I better go set traps for the Lucky Charms Leprauchaun. St Pat's Day is coming up. And I still think there's a better chance of catching him than having a labor agreement in the NFL.

:lmao2: It's all funny what you said bro, but I'm serious. It will get done sooner than people think.

By the way, screw the heavy drugs. Get a bottle and chase some tail. Then hit it good. Great times.
