If I had to pick one unit to place the blame on it would be the offensive line.

It amazes me how many fans and so called experts keep talking about RW11, TO and Romo when the biggest problem with the Cowboys is the sad state of the offensive line. Who has more blown assignments and made more mental errors then the Oline has this season? They kill drives by constantly letting defenders get a free run at Romo, they kill drives with stupid penalties and they have to be partially accountable for some of Romo's fumbles as he is always running for his life. How many sacks would these sorry excuses have given up if Romo wasnt an escape artist.

Games are won in the trenches, how can any QB or receiver get into rhythm with the way these guys are playing?

Im not absolving Romo and others, they all need to improve but come on the offensive line is more offensive then it is a line. They have been by far the weakest link on this team all year and quite frankly they are the biggest reason our offense sputtered vs the Giants last year in the second half of that playoff game.

I agree

Romo is always scrambling, OL is too blame too

Truth be told, there is enough blame to go around for everyone

Shouldn't you have posted this in the streamlined thread?

This is what I have been saying all season long. Guess I should post more often. Because I don't think people realize it as much as they should.

If they performed well, we could have avoided the injuries and the turnovers that plagued us all season long.

Romo didn't do as good a job of masking our o-lines failures in 2008. He was a miracle worker in 2007.

It was clear that as the season played out Romo got more and more rattled by the beatings he was taking behind this horrible offensive line.

As bad as it was I still think the special teams were even worse.

i couldnt agree more the last 5 weeks of the seaon good teams knew they couldnt stand a chance if romo had time so they knew flozell wasnt playing well and procter couldnt play on a high school level so they blitzed us unconditionally and made romo run for his life until he turned the game over and thats how we got beat.

this oline stunk the place up but to flozell's defense i think alot of times he got caught watching procter's back.

granted he got beat this year too but i think the games that kosier played you can tell the difference.

i say sign the best free agent guard around or check the draft for the best guard available i think BIGG and larry allen and nate newton can show you how guards are very important to an oline.

especially when the blitz comes right up the middle its nothing tackle can do then.

I agree. If you can't win the battle up front you are not going to win games. I don't care what plays you call if the defense is sitting in your backfield that play is going to fail. I think Dallas has to look to the draft and or FA, this BS of Adams constantly jumping offside’s is ridicules and he has big time problems with speed rushers. I think Kosier is a good player but I still think we can upgrade at his position

Preaching to the choir Doomsday: I've been saying this for a year and a half now. No one in here really cares. It's too tempting to castigate WAde, Romo, T.O., Red, etc.....BTW they all share blame for sure. But that Oline is where it all starts. Dicatating tempo, establishing dominance, controlling the clock and ripping the heart right out of your opponents' chest. I MISS ERIK WILLIAMS,LARRY ALLEN-(GOD HOW I MISS HIM) TUINEI,STEPNOSKI, HECK I EVEN MISS KEVIN GOGAN. This line should be strapped down and forced to watch the Wizard of Oz over and over:especially the parts involving the Tin Man.

How could you not get rattled with the beatings he took. I think it affected his accuracy down the stretch. He is a tough guy but you can only take so many big hits before it starts to wear on you mentally, it is only natural.

OL does deserve a large amount of the blame, especially down the stretch. They gave up 9 of the 20 sacks on Tony this year in the final 3 games.

That doesn't even take into account all the other times he's getting hit when he's able to get rid of the ball.

That's your QB getting hit WAY to much during a crucial stretch of the season.

Considering this was the single worst performing unit on the entire team, that's a good place to start.

That is because with Kosier he did not have to make as many miracles as he did without him, or even Holland for that matter. I would bet that if you traced Romo's bad games you would find that Proctor was playing or Flozell was hurt in all cases.

I'd blame the offensive mentality before blaming the o-line. This line has proven that they can run the football when committed to it. Redball seemed to never establish either the pass or the run; I can see why the o-line would be a nonfactor.

Build an offensive philosophy around the running backs and let the fatties do what they do best -- besides eating.
