I called it weeks ago: We will win the NFCE

How many doubters are left? Look who our competition is:

Commanders: Lost their QB, WR's mostly suck, TE's always getting hurt, still have O-line issues
Giants: Dug themselves a deep hole, Eli fades late in seasons lately, not good enough to make a stretch run anyway
Eagles: 12 players injured, three more playing hurt all the time lately, Wentz the Great is not so great leading a MASH unit, Jesus himself would have to come down to Earth and heal that team. No miracles in Philly this year.

Boys, this is it. Garrett saves his job with a first place finish this year.

Making that prediction at any time before the ATL game (and maybe even still) was total mularkey. There was absolutely nothing about this team that suggested they would even win 8 games, let alone the division.

Being right, in hindsight, doesn't mean it was a smart thing to say "weeks ago," whatever that means.

I look at the other division leaders:

Rams
Bears
Saints
Patriots
Steelers
Texans
Chiefs.

And I think "so what?". We are far and away worse than all of them.

The NFC East stinks. We may stink a bit less than the others guys, but we still stink.

You have such a rosy outlook! I'll bet you probably even drink your own urine, because it's sterile and you like the taste. Lol. J/k.

Why all the negativity? I swear some of you guys just love to wallow in misery.

What I didn't like about a lot fans on here was that they were not even giving dallas a chance to beat the Eagles or Falcons. It was disgusting to read

I'm sorry.

How many teams on that list could we beat? Be honest. We already lost to the Texans.

The only team on that list we might have a chance is the Bears. Maybe.

It's not about being positive or negative. It's about looking around the league today and making an honest assessment.

Did you think we were going to beat both the Eagles and Falcons on the road? I’m sure you didn’t but it happened.

What matters is where you are when you play those teams. Not where you are now. We just need to keep improving.

How many of the division leaders can we beat?

We play the Saints in 10 days. How do you think that's going to go? Be honest.

I think we are going to get rolled. Is that being negative? Or is that being honest?

Combined record of the teams we beat: 18-32

Combined record of the teams we lost to: 29-21

We beat bad teams and lose to good ones. Put it all together and we are average. I predicted 9-7 before the season. I'm sticking with it.

We are what we are.

And for the record, I enjoyed yesterday's win. I just am able to put it in perspective.

If I was betting on it I would say we would lose. I would say the same thing about any of the other 30 teams if they were playing the Saints right now. So what!

Quit crying dude.

Not crying at all.

Just looking at the league as a whole and where this team fits in.

Want me to get excited about this team?

Get rid of Jason Garrett and the offensive coaches. Bring in an offensive innovator with cutting edge, 21st century thinking.

THAT would excite me a lot more than any win over Atlanta.

Dallas is lucky.

There is no way you could make an educated prediction that Philly would completely collapse and Washington would lose their QB.

Even with everything going perfect we still don't have much room for error.

I'll just be happy if the 1st-round pick we sent to Oakland isn't in the top 15.

Commanders:

@Cowboys
@Eagles
Giants
@Jaguars
@Titans
Eagles

Cowboys:

Commanders
Saints
Eagles
@Colts
Buccaneers
Giants

So, let's say Dallas wins Thursday. That puts Dallas and the Commanders tied for first.

I find it difficult to believe this defense can stop Brees and the Saints. So can the Eagles beat the Skins? If so, still tied.

Then its the rematch with the Eagles. Can Dallas do it again? If so, Skins have the Giants. Maybe still tied.

Dallas @ Colts who are the 5th best scoring offense in the league. Skins against the Jags who seem to have found their normal terribleness. Is this where the tie ends?

Then rematch with the Giants, who may be mailing it in by then. The Skins have the Eagles at home.

So where does the tie end if Dallas wins Thursday?

Any given Sunday, there's no unbeatable teams in the NFL.

Things look MUCH better for us but "that's why they play the games"... I've gone from an extreme low point after the titans debacle to actually looking forward to meaningful football again. I think we'll get revenge on the skins but I still anticipate a difficult game. We don't seem to pull away from teams.

Well, congratulations for your foresight if it means anything at all worth holding dear to you. I haven't been especially enthralled with our overall magnificence, although, we've admittedly managed to get this far. There will be high hurdles to clear on our way to glory, no doubt. Let's see what our upcoming games hold in store before counting our blessings before they're granted. Washington will pose a challenge in their own right but the topper is really likely to come when and after we meet the Saints, thanks to the misfortunes of others in our division.

Nevertheless, like yourself, I'm pleased to have arrived at a point where we've earned a reasonable degree of respect, although New Orleans and those scheduled to follow, will test us further, with no doubt. It's refreshing to know we've managed to ascend to some degree of recognition for reaching a higher level of competence. In closing, may our good fortune continue in the way to which it has up until this point in time. I'm really not expecting a SB appearance, to be totally honest. A simple division title would have me smiling widely, though. At present, Colt McCoy and the 'Skins stand in our way.
