I can't get away from offense

I keep thinking that drafting for offense isn't going to help this team in the short run, but maybe I was premature in thinking that.

I think if you could trade down and get Elliott and trade up to get Corey Coleman, the offensive production could really improve drastically and quickly.

We need that deep threat/YAC receiver. We haven't had that since Terry Glenn.

I'm not sure what we would do with receiver height, but I think we would become a more potent offense.

I think Coleman could take the top off the defense, and Dez, Witten, and Beasley could feast in the middle.

That's great but you better then spend a crap ton in free agency on the defense if you plan on using your top two picks on offense.

The defense has more holes than the offense. You need an upgrade at DT and you might also need a DE if Hardy is not resigned. You probably need a new MLB and frankly could upgrade the SAM LB as well as I think Hitchens is more a good backup than starter.

And then we get to the wasteland that is the secondary. Assuming Scandrick is healthy, throw in Jones and you still could use two new secondary pieces (depending on where Jones ends up), 3 if you don't think you have a good nickle back (which is becoming increasingly important in this current NFL).

I'm thinking what is going to be easier to fill.

Players who I think you could get in free agency.

Tashaun Gipson
Mario Williams
Rolando McClain

Not arguing that another WR better than T WIll would be nice, but I'm pretty sure this coaching staff/FO isn't about to bury him on the depth chart while he's still here. Hasn't been their MO with anyone. Dez-TWill-Beasley-Butler-Lucky...like I said, I'd like an upgrade but don't be surprised when they are the 5 WR's on the roster next year

Nah I'd be happier if we went hard to make defense a priority in both the draft and FA.
secondary
DLine
Then offense

The offense has a good to elite player at every position save running back.

Meanwhile, we could/should lose two corners who haven't been worth their weight anyway, have an aging declining strong safety who can't cover, we have no one at SAM, a 1T that gets absolutely no push....

But sure, lets back up the truck in free agency and ignore it in the draft. That's how championships are won...

This team should be taking BPA at every single draft pick. They need help on both sides of the ball, but none more than the defensive backfield.

Add a good corner (Hayward, Johnson) and 1 DT and DE (rotational starters). Go into the draft and take the BPA at each pick.

We have lucky which people seem to have given up on as a deep threat as well as butler
Rather develope them and draft for defense with a RB someone after the first two picks like Williams from Arkansas
We have an offense if we have a QB and it won't matter how many toys you have if you don't have a QB
Fix the defense

Anybody else want to sign up for ignoring half the prospects in this draft?

I'll say this much.....Sure seems like the media is hyping a bunch of turds this year....but if you dig deep enough...there are some gems to be had....that's for sure.;)
