I can't tell what we are yet

Here are my thoughts...


Thought 1: we are next years champion, here a year early. With the way the nfl is, if we get hot and a break here and there it could happen.

Thought 2: our defense just ain't enough to get us there. Maybe next year - next years champions

Thought 3: my biggest concern, our window has passed us by. Though, I think #1 can negate #3


Basically, I think we have a punchers chance. We are not Mayweather, we are not technically sound or close to perfect..... we are Arturo Gatti, we will take some body and head shots but we can deliver some blows ourself.

Agreed, but something tells me we have not seen the best of this team yet this season. I think they have another gear, I just hope they hit it at the right time, and not "peak early" as we see teams do.

I think 2 is probably the best bet, but I don't think this team has played its best yet offensively. We may have already hit our peak defensively though.

1 double digit edge rusher would have a domino effect on this defense. We get solid pressure up the middle, but that one legit player off the edge and we are harrasing QBs with a 4 man rush. If you can do that, its hard to get points on this style of defense

I like the direction of this team, but I fear Romo may be on his last legs. I don't know how long his back will hold out. And he's getting older.
I think this year or, maybe, next year is about as good as it's going to get for this team with him. We need to get it done for Romo. I think he's in a much better place and is much more dangerous as a quarterback. If DeMarcus Lawrence can take a quantum leap in terms of being that pass rusher we sorely need, we should be able to challenge for the Super Bowl this year. Nobody really scares me except Green Bay. But Green Bay can be run on, and I like our maulers in sub-freezing temperatures.

Ok. This is debatable.

We do smarter things. Playcalling specifically. Using that great oline to run.
We are more aggressive on defense. Hungry.

Translating to wins?- yes, but we got very lucky during 6 game win streak. Made a lot of mistake and didn't pay for them with a loss. Little bit of luck or we could be 6-5 right now.


Not complaining about your post. It's just that we have been on the right side of the "fine line" a few more times than last year. Lucky breaks, some breaks we created.
