I do believe Randall Godfrey is still out there.

Godfrey is probably on the Cowboys speed dial in case of injury. I tought they might bring him in to help teach the system since he played for Wade. My guess is he is not going to go through the rigors of training camp without a contract with a signing bonus. He is not going to get that because teams want to evaluate their younger players in camp. There's also the possibility that Wade knows he's shot as a player since he did have him in SD.

Thought Godfrey was only an ILB. Also from some evaluation I read a few months ago when subject of our signing Godfrey came up, he's only capable now of playing the first 2 downs against the run but now in pass coverage so I don't see how he helps the Cowboys now. I do understand that Burnett is looking pretty good but decision to move him to OLB is on hold until Ellis gets on the field and Cowboys see what he can do.

Godfrey played SOLB when Dallas was running the 4-3 in the late 90's... I hated to see him go because he tore it up in Tennessee after he left Dallas. Such was the Jones philosophy of not paying big bucks to LBers... Godfrey knew it and he took off. Then the one LBer that Jones turned his philosophy around on was Gnat Coakley... He got the big bucks for that time... I would have rather had Godfrey for a large portion of his career, but oh well, such is life.
