It seems to me the '05 draft was the one that scared teams off taking RB's so high in the first. More top 10 RB busts in the first round of that draft than I can ever remember. See for yourself:

Yep, that's the draft that GB snagged Rodgers at 24. Tread LIGHTLY when taking a RB that high gents. (and I don't think we will) Trade down a few spots.....then maybe snag him.

and 2 years later Peterson was taken with the 7th pick
you never know. You can do this with every position (especially QB)

We have an oline waiting for a great rb. Zeke, DMC, and Dunbar could be interesting
who would u take at 4?

I think Zeke will be a very good RB but I'm not convinced he will be Peterson good
Think of it this way, at 4 you get a defensive player and still add a quality RB in the 2nd or 3rd rnd. That back may not be Zeke good but what if he can be 90% Zeke good and you've added a guy who can help the defense. You are more likely to find a RB later than a pass rusher or stud lb or even a CB
I like Zeke and think he could make a good impact and I could really get onboard if we didn't need defense so bad

but will your rb have all the tangibles of Zeke? he has speed but can also go up the middle, can catch, and loves to block. He could solidify the posn for years. Take the DE we need with the 2nd pick.
what rb do u think can be 90% of Zeke in the 2nd (asking not being sarcastic)

Zeke is the most complete back and there is no doubt about that
But if you look at this draft there are lots of DT's but not so at de. There will be solid rb's all the way down till the 3rd rnd. I like Collins a lot and he could be there in the 3rd. Not the blocker Zeke is but Dmac is a good blocket
I really like Zeke and if not for the obvious holes on defense I would be all over the pick but we have to get some help for the defense. I'm not gonna be mad if Zeke is the pick because he is a very good prospect but I see defense as such a huge weakness that we have to get quality help there

Any player is capable of being a bust no matter the position. I would be more afraid to take a QB in the first round than a RB. The hit/miss on QBs is probably the worst of all positions. (well, except maybe WR. WR have high bust rates too)

Ramsey. If he's gone...trade down.

he had 0 int last year and 3 for his career.
Guess I'm guy shy going for db's so high. backfired with Claiborne and Williams.

Guess we'll agree to disagree

Targets towards him against opposing QBs are more important. Secondly, Claiborne came out of college with 7 INTs his senior year. He didn't become much of a ball hawk.

Roy wouldve been great if he had love for the game. No reason he couldnt have had a solid 10 year career. Mo on the otherhand just sucks. Ramsey, if he stays at safety is a way better prospect than Claiborne. Ramsey has dog in him and is physical while Mo is neither.
