I don't care about having Home Field in Playoffs

The NFC is so wide open this year, and the best HF advantages (Seattle, GB) won’t be playing any home playoff games, that I agree it doesn’t matter much.

Minnesota with their noise level could be an issue but Kirk Cousins doesn’t move the needle for anyone in big games.

I really don't care if we win the Division and/or have Home Field in the playoffs.
This Defense, if healthy, will allow us to play anywhere and have a good chance of winning/advancing.
I just want to get into the playoffs and take our chances.
We are getting ahead of ourselves , aren't we.

I don't really think there is a team in the NFC so far this year that should scare the other team by playing at home. Play-offs of course are a different bird.
Didn't matter in the playoffs last year.
49ers and Rams advanced to the conference championship by winning on the road in the divisional round.
In the AFC, the Chiefs survived a home divisional game in OT, before losing the conference champioship at Arrowhead Stadium.

Not unlike the players, I'll take these games one at a time. Whatever happens, I'll always enjoy seeing my team playing their hearts out to win for their pride and their fans. There's surely more to life than having your team win; anything more than playing is just frosting on the cake! My basic preference is enjoying each and every day for whatever it has to offer. Following this team and just watching their adventures are a major part of that. ;)

Thing with football as opposed to other sports it is a one game deal, no series. I think it is also what makes football post season interesting you get 1 shot to get it done. You win you move on you lose and the season is over.

Today's version of the Cowboys is such that setting one's expectations renders fans highly dependent upon winning far more than enjoying the team and their experiences without being on a conditional level. Seeing how they tend to often be without playoff experiences now, disappointment is quite likely to be assured. I see my entertainment on a different level than most fans. I love the games for whatever they have to offer, rather than only being satisfied if winning is included. I'm quite sure I'm a different fan than most, in that odd way. Winning really is more fun when it's not expected.

If all you care about is the easier path to a SB, that first round bye is critical. Moreso than the homefield advantage.
If a team gets the first round bye, they will have homefield advantage in the divisional round - and the conference championship game if they advance from there.
1st round bye = getting homefield advantage path to play and reach the Superbowl.
Part and parcel.

I'm very disappointed when this team fails to make post season or does not do well in post season. In fairness I have been disappointed a lot more often than celebrating. In 57 years, I have been watching, Cowboys have won SB 5 times and failed 52 times. I love Football and the Cowboys that does not change

Homefield advantage may help put a handful of NFL teams sometimes. But it hasn't mattered when it came to the Cowboys, who had the number 1 seed multiple times and still failed to advance to the NFC Championship game.

I think home field advantage is a much bigger deal for some teams than it is for others. While not getting a playoff game in Dallas may not seem so bad, having to go somewhere else could be
HFA probably means more to a team with a rabid fan base… Ie Philly…. A team like Dallas, with fans who are more corporate in nature… Maybe not so much. I do think Dallas has rabid fans as well, but they don’t seem to go to Jerry’s world. And I’ve been to Dallas/Philly games at both stadiums…No comparison

not just that, but weather as well. How prepared is a Bible Belt team really to play in 8 degree weather when the winds pick up while it’s flurrying? Couple that with crowd noise, atmosphere, etc, and it gets hard.

It’s not coincidence that the domed teams are the ones that have not done as well or disappointed with home field advantage. Lions, Vikings, Cardinals, Cowboys since Jerry World.

Hiw many times have the saints looked like the best team or one of the in the league? It’s crazy they only made 2 NFC. Same with Colts, all the “Peyton Mannung bad weather” stuff, they were dominate for a decade and won 1 single super bowl. Meanwhile KC has only gotten started, has made the AFCCG every one of Mahomes’s seasons, 2 SBs and already won one.

Open air stadiums KC, GB, NYG, Philly, Pittsburgh, Baltimore. I think this is such a monumental factor.

You should. It doesn't guarantee anything, but it certainly can prove to be an advantage. It won't make a bad team good or a good visiting team bad, but in the playoffs you take everything you can. The slightest advantage can make a difference.

Basketball is the same way in the postseason - one and done if you lose.
High school...competing for the state championship.
College...playing in the conference tournament; then - if the team qualifies -playing for the national title.
