BUT here is what I would do:
1. Fire Wade Phillips and every coach we have, clean house, you may keep a few of them but almost all should go. Go and get Cowher,,but he wont come....will have to settle for holmgren....he hinted in his last PC that he wants to coach next year, i think jerry made a side deal with him if this happened...he would help with getting the players but not be the GM...he is ok with that because jerry worked with parcells...
2. From day one Holmgren will need to retrain Romo...and go through everything with him..all his mechanics, all of his decisions...weed out the poor plays..but most of all and I said this from day one this year,,,HE WILL HAVE TO DEDICATE HIMSELF MORE...forget golf...forget soccer...forget all the partying...notice i didnt say forget jessica...lol...Sellout...
3. Get O line depth...may have to shake that line up a bit, flozell..cant get rid of him...columbo, cant get rid of him...you need kosier...davis dont want to get rid of him...aw crap jerry has backed us into a corner...but listen people truthfully someone is always going to be either playing hurt or will be hurt so we have to adjust for that...so you WILL HAVE TO GET O LINE DEPTH THAT CAN PLAY....jerry's mo to overpay so overpay, get rid of most of the backups....this is probably just as important as anything next year because someone is probably going to have to be able to play at the end of the year..
4. Get rid of Pacman Jones unless he shows the wherewithal to become pacman jones again! because i dont know what i saw out there this year, it wasnt him....give him sometime to see what he does...
5. Let spears go and if you cant get canty at a good price, let him walk, move rat over except on passing downs and get A BIG RUN STOPPING NT...HAVE TO DO IT...he doesnt have to be great...just good
6. We cant get rid of TO...cant do it...have to get on the same page with romo...they have to do it....holmgren can make that happen....no more garrett to screw things up....if romo sells out they all will sell out
7. Get some more passrushers...get it to the point where we are the best ever...we can do that if you get one or two of them...
8. Get rid of Zach Thomas...one of the passrushers needs to be an inside guy and he is too small for the 3-4...get me phillips from san diego...he is good
9. develop the corners...jenkins and scandrick...
10. move henry to FS and get me a real SS...get rid of Roy....let henry and hamlin fight it out, they both dont deserve any better....and both will push each other
11. get a real backup for Tony romo...have to do it...someone to push him...
12. Jerry stop throwing money at the situation, you have us in a situation right now because i would get rid of flozell but we cant...we cant do anything at wr because roy williams and TO are getting paid way too much...you threw away our draft picks and overpaid for a guy that may turn out to be a bust with us,,,i am not sure....you overpaid on defense for players like henry, dont do it with canty and spears...just dont do it...do what parcells does...get players that fit your system that dont require big money, we need a team not talent, we have enough talent....
13. Get a real punt returner if pacman is let go....
This is what I would do...what you have to do to be successful...will jerry do any of it? I doubt it...he is who is he is...the 2nd worst GM in the league behind good old Al Davis who does everything for his team.....
