...but I predicted 8-8 or MAYBE 9-7 this season. I'm sick about the losses to the Commanders (who wouldn't be?) but with all of the rookies that we have starting, and the loss of Flozell, I won't be unhappy with 9-7. I'll be in heaven if we make the playoffs.

I honestly can't believe people are actually calling for Parcells' head right now. What the hell was he supposed to do? The o-line wasn't blocking for crap today. The false start penalties didn't help much either. Dallas got owned, plain and simple. Pick up the pieces and move on.

Don't get me wrong-Parcells is one of my all-time favorites.

But at the same time, it looks like the game has slowly but surely passed him by. Not that old-school coaching is BAD, but especially with the way the NFL keeps changing in recent years, he needs to change his style and philosophies just a bit. The players out there look tentative and are afraid to make mistakes.

FWIW-this also ended up being Ditka's undoing in the Big Easy.

Oline was bad but who's fault is that? It was BP who is responsible for taking only Adams, Petitti, and Tucker as our OTs in to the season. He should have had a nother OT on the roster when the season started.

Maybe 9-7 looked good before the season started, but as someone stated earlier, when you are 7-3 a month ago 9-7 don't look that great. It looks like a collapse.

blah blah, the coaches have failed, period.

Rookies are playing. We have a new scheme. SO WHAT!! The defense has been the strength of this team, so those 2 excuses are a bunch of crap. We have one rookie starting on O, that's no big thing. We've had one major injury. We've been pretty healthy, so can't use those exuses. Bottom line, the coaches (particularly Parcells) have done a poor job preparing this team to win, ESPECIALLY in big games. No reason this team shouldn't be 11-5 or 12-4, if not better. No reason at all.

I agree-if you see Parcells on the sidelines, most of the time he doesn't really have any rational talk with his assitants(like he did in Boston and the Big Apple). With his other teams, he had Belichick, Weis, Crenell, Grogh, etc to confide with alot.

Holmgren had this same problem with his first few years in Seattle-until he ravamped his coaching staff with former Niner assistants. Maybe Parcells should think about getting LT, Carl Banks, or Harry Carson to be on his staff.

Nice post. Totally agree. I think some people's hopes changed dramatically when we went to 7-3. I read about Superbowl talk and homefield advantage and was shaking my head then as I do now.

The injuries (including Riveras' pre-season back innjury) have taken a serious toll on this team.

It's easy to say "fire Parcells".........but for those who are saying it......who you want to replace him with? Where's the list of names?

A lot ** knee-jerkers around here and this is coming from a person who did NOT want Parcells here in the first place..

It's tough for any team to carry around several starting-quality o-linemen. They're rather expensive you know.

The defense has been the strength of the team, but it's a well-documented fact that most rookies wear down in the second half of the season. With as many rookies as we have starting on defense, I'm not the least bit surprised to see it go downhill right now.

What game were you watching? I thought the line did a decent job of blocking. But, when you have a statue standing in the pocket and holding onto the ball for 6 seconds, there's bound to be sacks. That has been the problem all year long. People said it before Bledsoe came in and guess what, they're still saying it.

I can appreciate your opinions, but I'm ready for Parcells and his cronies to head back to New England. His guys were brought in and his system was put in. What's the excuse now? Injuries? It's his job to evaluate talent and put the team in a position to win. Just like last year, this team got off to a hot start until people figured them out.

Time for a revolution at Valley Ranch.
