Another Oline bust IMO. I was not thrilled with Notre Dame's offensive line last year, and his scouting report says:

Sam Young tested well in workouts, but he was inconsistent throughout his career, and fails to play to his athleticism

I'd much rather take the player that doesn't have the measureables or workout numbers, but performs on the field.

I just got off of work so I'm checking out the draft picks, but I really like every pick we made except the Young pick. I love the Ansah pick.

I love the pick. He will be a serviceable RT, not elite, but I dont think he'll bust. Hell be an average RT, and in the 6th round thats good.

OMG, he's a freakin 6th rounder, GET OVER IT ALREADY!!!!

Who cares, it's sixth round throw away pick, any one you hit on is gravy.

The ONLY reason he was picked was so Jerry did not have to hear it from the media and the fans about how he did nothing about our weakest position in the draft.

I would have prefered Harewood and think we would have taken him with that 2nd pick in the 6th if the Ravens didn't scoop him up.

I don't know much about Young though, maybe he's a good pick.

Not that it matters, but last year, after the 2009 Draft, Tod McShay had his first Mock Draft for 2010.

Surprisingly he had a number of the top players pretty close to where they went. Guys like Bradford, Suh, Okung, etc. I thought it was interesting that he had Sam Young projected as the 16th pick to Buffalo.

Obviously he didn't live up to the forecast but at least he is a name that has been out there for a while. Maybe he can develop and be one of those OL that plays a long time even though they were not picked very high.

I bet here was another Tom Brady type steal in this round and jerry screwed it all up by drafting someone that we don't know how good he will be right now.

i have a 2000 magazine that projected Quincy Carter becoming the number one pick in the 2001 draft.:D it's hilarious to read now.

He's a 50 games starter and ND, this is the kind of players to take late in the draft, three and four year starters. Before you judge, Crayton and Ratliff were seventh round picks, Hurd, Austin, Olgetree and Romo weren't even drafted, let him have some time, you're probably not going to get an allpro everytime, but McQ's been here four years and he hasn't pushed for playing time, so it's time to get someone to replace him

Lets face it, we are terrible at drafting O-line. Kinda why im happy we didnt draft one in the earlier rounds. So we got our ****ty O-line pick outta the way in the 6th round, i can live with that.

I have the same magazine LOL:lmao:

Doesnt have the feet to play tackle and to tall to play guard. Out of the league in three years.

How many ND games have you watched?

None would be my guess.

I am a ND fan and even I know he stinks.

Kid had all world potential coming out of high school because of his size. Never lived up to it and even at RT he was a turnstile.

Two words...Rob Petitti.

I should have known you'd be a ND fan. :D

That review doesn't sound all that appealing, that's for damn sure. Young strikes of of the typical Cowboys late round lineman pick, I'm never impressed. Oh well, hope he makes a better pro than college player I guess.

Maybe we can have Young's dad become a member here and gives us progress reports on him
