There's no links or anything just talk. I live hear in raleigh, nc, and most of my buddies are panther fans. Supposdley J.Peppers going to Dallas was a hot topic on there blog site, they were telling me that everyone is assuming him coming here because of the g.ellis departure. Me I don't think we are and should go after Peppers I mean don't get me wrong ware and peppers would be dangerous, but i think that spencer will have a better career the ellis and we should give the young players the oppurtinity to showcase there skills instead of spending top money for DE transfer to OLB player

We drafted 2 OLB/DEs, which is probably the main reason Ellis is gone cap space would be another

Peppers is the kind of player that a team who really needs a strong pass rusher will pursue heavily.

He is not the kind of player that a team with a strong pass rusher will consider.

Certainly not one who is about to pay a pass rusher in the neighborhood of 80-100 million dollars.

Now that we've established that Peppers to Dallas is iminent, lets speculate as to what we'll have to give up to get him.

A player of his caliber would require a sweet deal. But I think Bobby Carpenter, Kevin Ogletree, and a 4th might get the deal done.

No, he won't.

He signed the franchise. Now they will work on a long term deal and he will be looking to stay in Carolina to finish his career.

If he had become a Free Agent I sincerely believe Jerry was going to get him to be a bookend with Ware.

Now, I think it is highly unlikely. The Panthers can now trade him since he signed the Franchise Tender. They could not before that act was done. That might be why he was not traded during the Draft.

The question is what would it cost at this point? Anthony Spencer would almost have to be in the deal because there isn't a roster spot for him unless he is going to be a DE in a 3-4. That isn't what he wants to do.

I don't see it at this point.

And I hope we don't do a ******* move like that. Spencer is going to have a solid nfl career with hopefully couple of pro bowls and superbowls under his belt :laugh2: ,yea I had to envolve the super bowl SORRY!!!!

Contracts aside, a Peppers signing would signal that personnelwise, we stink.
Over the hill. Expensive. Blah yadayada.

But on the contrarian, I think that despite Jerra deciding to keep Wade, we still know a thang or two about personnel. That old goat Peppers would not fit the sleeker Dallas Cowboys model.

If this was MLB i'd say do the deal and i'd give Spencer and a #1 and give Peppers a big money deal, but it's not MLB and we do have a cap so NO, it won't happen. Ware is our one huge money man on D.
