Where so many outside influences are playing on a coaching situation.

I absolutely believe if there was a CBA in place and the Cowboys were playing in old Texas Stadium Garrett may already have his extension in place.

As it is now, I believe money is the key factor behind his decision and I'm not talking money that will be paid to a coach but butts in the seats at Jerry's play land.

I have no trust that Jerry will do the right thing (or not as I'm sure some will point out) and take the coach that is already set up shop.

I think Jerry is afraid that he cant sell the name Jason Garrett to the "fans" and I quote the word fans because I'm not talking about you or me or the average Joe who lives pay check to pay check. Those fans know enough and are going to back their team because it's part of a lifestyle. I'm talking the brief case carrying executive bunch up in the rich seats behind the glass. The one's that Jerry really makes his money off of. They are the one's that are going to say "Jason Who" while dropping names like Cowher and Gruden. Names that sell, names that will keep these executives swiping credit cards, buying corporate seats and paying for the extra plates at the buffet.

I really hope Jerry looks beyond that and realizes in the long run the winning is what will keep those same executives coming back for more while growing his "average Joe" fan base and winning a few titles along the way.

I fear unless Garrett goes 500 the rest of the season Jerry will give into the allure of a "name" and while I cant say that a Bill Cowher does not peak my interest I believe we have our own right here and right now.

I actually found myself getting emotionally involved in this team for the first time in several weeks today. Struggling to keep my greedy draft ***** persona who wants a top 5 selection stuffed away while I rooted for a win but not a win for the Cowboys. No it was more then that, a win for Jason Garrett.

Maybe Hos brain washed me, maybe it's seeing the difference in this team, maybe is watching Payton in New Orleans succeed and knowing how Jerry never really wanted to let him go but what ever it is, I find myself pulling for Jason Garrett right now more then the Cowboys and more then a top 5 selection.

Count me in as one who will find myself more then a little upset if Jerry simply does not do the right thing, the smart thing and yes, go ahead and spew your venom, I know some of you will. It is the right thing, it is the smart thing.

To me, that's just bizarre.

I'm sure it is for most of us "haters".

I think Jerry is being smart and gathering all of the information and not making an instant evaluation and showering annointing oil everywhere before its earned.

Dumbest thing we could do is give Garrett an extension right now.

There are plenty of fans, media, and sponsors who are not sold on Garrett yet, and I'm one of em. The continual running of Barber to long side of the field and not making the yardage makes me wonder how he got into Priceton sometimes.

worst case scenario is jerry in attempt to appease fans...hires the most high profile OC/DC. It would be a disaster. Jason must make the decision on both positions.

because Garrett understands importance of establishing physicality in the running game....he just doesnt have the horses upfront to do it. Some of that also is Barber making the wrong read.

hope fully jerry does the right thing here an hires JG as HC

the by dumping RW - MBIII getting whatever he can get for them even if it a 7 round pick

You can't be serious. Do you really think this is reality?

Well, it doesn't matter what we do because we have Tony Romo at quarterback and we'll never win with him, according to you.

Think about it this way. Was Wade Phillips a big name? He's certainly no Gruden or Cowher. Had the season not gone so bad he'd still be the coach and Jerry would be trying to still sell him to avg. Joes and suite buying execs.

Yes I am and yes

It's hard to really evaluate Garrett w/ this team b/c the Oline could be better. that affects the pass and run directly.

Also, the defense is just flat out weak. THey can't get consistent pressure on the passer. The 2ndary is weak.

Otherwise, I think he's doing as good a job as is possible under the circumstances. His playcalling is still a bit...questionable...at times but it's also about the poor execution by the players.

If Garrett thinks its so important than why isn't Choice eating up Barbers carries?

It is moronic to play Barber over Choice if you want more production from the run game.

Just repeating what I have been told but the main reason for Tashards lack of playing time is his poor blocking and he does not have the greatest hands. Dallas simply does not want him on the field in passing downs and if he only comes in on running plays your heavily tipping your hand.

they will win games with Romo...I just dont think he is the QB to get them over the hump. Dallas is no longer handicapped by poor coaching so I dont think they need a "prolific" offensive stat QB but rather just a smart one who is consistant and not turnover prone at critical times. Thats just my opinion and its completely ok if you dont agree with it.

Ok than put Felix on the field on passing downs. If you need a blocker than put Barber out there and occasionally pass it to him.

Either way Choices production in the run game is going to help far more than whatever Barber offers in any phase of the game.

It's time for Barber to get off the field and if that means not having a good blocker on pass downs than so be it.

Barber isn't worth it.

because regardless of who we think the is the better back...Barber is still the most physical one. He has definitely lost a step and doesnt deserve to be starter...but he is still a physical back...just not a very good one anymore. You still win in NFC East with power and Felix is about as finesse as they come. I am on the fence on choice..still cant figure out if he is power back...i dont think he knows yet. But i agree choice has to be as good as Barber...but barber takes home a big contract and you better believe Jerry is not letting his big contract run 3rd team. Best thing happend...and barber tweeked his calf...so Choice will get a chance now.

Currently, I'm leaning heavily towards retaining Garrett -- an assertion I wouldn't have imagined making just a few weeks ago. It seems he's in the process of changing the culture.

However, there are still five games remaining in the season. Much could change.

Your not going to get an argument from me there but I dont think Choice is everything we want to believe although I have to believe he is better then Barber.

I don't either. I've never touted Choice > Barber but it's painfully obvious who offers more to us at this point.

I would rather give Gronkowski the ball than Barber. He is a freaking dancing stiff out there.

I'll even take Julius Jones over Barber. He has just lost it and plays like an old man. There is no spring in his step.
