I dont see any guys who are really regarded as good coordinators

The reason i have gotten better with the Schotty decision after being really hot about it initially is....Eberflus. I didn't realize he was a possibility and he represents the absolute best option I would want out of all available candidates.

He has put together very good defenses with not the greatest personnel. He is highly regarded and has done the HC thing and failed. It could be our Spagnulo type of hire for our defense.

Schotty is the defacto OC/HC. His hire reminds me of Nick Sirianni in Philly, just without the absolute ANNOYING antics.

They will hopefully fill their staff with bright and energetic coaches that can help us motivate and innovate on both sides of the ball.

Pretty sure he went 1-15 and then 7-9 the following season and was on the brink of making the playoffs. As long as you're criticizing memories, try to be accurate.
ON the Brink so 7-10 tin24 we are on the brink LOL

Actually no one did they were pretty angry that Tom Landry got fired and didn't like Jimmy Johnson especially after he went one in 15 and then 3 and 13 people were pretty upset at Jerry and Jimmy for making these big moves.. Apparently your memory is either going by the Internet or it it lost some facts but there was even a moment where Troy Aikman there was a quarterback controversy with one of the Stevens I can't remember we had somebody else on the team but there was a time where everything about that move the early Jerry Jones ownership era where people were angry they were controversies so yeah I think maybe you don't get it now because you that you trusted Jimmy back then but I don't really believe you remember the tone and the temperature of the fan base back then..

it turned out good but again I already said it my other reply to, Dan Campbell staff with a no name staff he was not a big name he was not acceptable a lot of people were grumbling and here we go again with the lions and it turned out pretty well for them...
Jimmy was 7 and 9 his 2nd year. Landry was 3 and 13 his last year which led to Bum Bright wanting him fired.

first of all

i've already replied to that but being under 500, not a bragging point. BUT still my point holds.. many people at that point you're referring to were still upset and not bought into Jimmy yet..some were against Aikman. QB controversy, mad about the walker trade etc etc

i remember all of it was about 19 when all this started happening. some were treating Jimmy and Jerry in some ways lie this BS hire.. but history showed the detractors were wrong!! fans and media are wrong a lot.. lets let time decide how they changes are viewed.

Jimmy vs Schott... hmmmm Id trust Jimmy and his no names back in that time vs Schott and the band of who will come for pennies bc the FO doesnt like to overpay in that area.
David Shula was Jimmy’s first OC if my faulty memory serves. He moved on from him after 1 year, but that doesn’t change that Jimmy first hired him. David never lived up to his father’s pedigree.

Yes lots of pissed off fans early in That relationship but it was time for Landry to go anyway, Landry at that point was way way done. Jones was exactly what the NFL needed at that time and exactly what the Cowboys needed too.

Shula was the worst!

If I remember correctly, if they had one the last game of the year against the Falcons and finished 8-8 they were in but Babe started the game with Aikman injured and they lost and finished 7-9

Still no NFL experience. Consensus was a bunch of college coaches replacing a legend with a new county bumpkin owner. Was going to be a joke.
As it turned out the only joke was the country bumpkin owner.

I don't necessarily think we need a 'name' coach, moreso than we need someone who is energetic and has modern ideas. I'm curious to know which, if any, of these guys fits that bill.
