I don't see it happening. Not this year

We will not draft any WR, not even if BPA, until mid to late rounds. Are you going to sit Beasley? No. Plus, Butler gets another year to see what he can do. The only way we draft a WR is for a return guy later in draft.

We will not draft a TE this year. We will see what progress Rico makes, and we will roll with Witten, Swaim, and Hanna, hopefully all more healthy than last year. Next year is more likely time to look at TEs if you don't like what you see this year.

Maybe a late round or UDFA running back. He either makes the team as a third stronger/special teams or gets cut like Jackson last year for ST. He's not taking carries for the third down roll from DMac, not this year, so makes no sense.

Maybe an OT, maybe not.

This draft will be all about defense. DE, CB, S....and all three could end up with multiple selections. I'm guessing no more than 1 offensive player in two weeks.

It's a rather weak WR class and a lot of these TEs don't fit what Dallas wants from the position so neither of those are a stretch. I would not be surprised to see a RB anywhere after the 3rd to fill their "need" to have a Dunbar like player.

Go with the strength of this draft which so happens coincide with our needs. CB, S and DE. Pick multiple at each position and fill this roster with youth and it will serve us will in the next several years.

I expect to draft a TE someplace, and a WR wouldn't shock me, either. But it'd have to be a case where a WR was truly the best player we had on the board at the time. The draft will be primarily defensive. I think the team is more concerned with replenishing the DBs than they are worried about the DL, though they'll obviously be looking to upgrade the DL rotation if they can.

Of course, that all makes logical sense. I still hope they can find passrush heat in the first. Pressure is what the Defense needs most.

Pressure is definitely what we need most. It's just hardest to get at #28. Nobody we're likely to get is going to come in rated any higher than Demarcus Lawrence was, are they? So at DL, we're probably looking at improving rotation depth more than at adding a special catalytic player. I still think we're going the SEA route and trying to have consistent reps from positions 1-8 all the way across the DL.

That's why I thought we had to look hard at Olivier Vernon when he shook free last year. Young, catalytic edge players aren't available very often. Much as I hate it, it's also why the Gregory risk--though a huge risk--did actually make some sense. Except he bombed out on us.

I think at #28 we're going to get more value at DB or even LB. There probably will be a defensive player there they think has the potential to be an impact starter. As much as I want that player to play edge, I'll be ok if we just add a defender we really like.

But then, I also think the team is expecting contributions from both Jaylon Smith and Tapper. Fans say to pretend like they're not even on the roster, but I don't think we're going to pretend that. Though we do need to look at replacing Lawrence next season, I guess.

It's doubtful that WR lines up with BPA early so we'll likely never know what they might have done unless the dtaft board gets leaked again.

Same with TE.

If they pass on a universally regarded BPA at WR or TE then revisit this thread; otherwise, we'll never know what they would have done if WR/TE was the BPA.

Watch KD Cannon mid rounds. Watch Adam Shaheen 2nd.

I don't see the attraction to Smith-Schuster. He's not dynamic and who's roster spot is he taking? I don't want the Boys to waste a 2-4 round pick on him. Better off taking DBs or DEs or even a TE.

If Dallas comes out of this draft with zero offensive players I'll have the strong suspicion they're too focused on need and not on adding the best available talent. Heck, if they come out with only 1 or 2 guys on offense I'll be wary.

With the resigning of TWill and how the coaches feel about his role, I see no way we draft a WR, even if rated highly.

To pretend we don't have a pair of potential impact players on the roster is idiotic. I'm ok if you don't want to count on them to be stars but they have the ability to be anywhere from solid contributors to top end starters. We don't need to pretend they don't exist.

Juju was a top 30 visit. You don't waste those if you don't have interest.

Sometimes you have to draft for need. It's frowned upon and necessary.
