I don't want to overreact to one preseason game

What are your "I don't want to overreact to one preseason game, buuuut...." Thoughts?

For me, I think our defence looked much better than during the preseason last year.....and that was against depth pieces on a team that just won the SB. Well done!!!!

Also, I think Camden Brown may have won a roster spot. Question is, who is going to have to make way and what can we get for that player?
I was hoping that when I opened this thread your pot just said: "Super Bowl" :)

In regard to Brown....be realistic. We have the top 3 and that isn't changing. Turpin is probably #4 because of his job returning kicks and punts. Spot 5 is up for grabs easily and that is assuming they don't keep 6. They aren't gonna keep MVS over Brown. Mingo? Probably not. He is in the last year of his contract with no guaranteed money. Keep the younger guy with upside. No one else has splashed to Brown's level. I think he is a lock for WR 5.
I don't think he is anywhere near a lock. But in making a case for him, don't forget one of the most important things: he plays STs. He absolutely has a shot

True, but with the depth at WR...it might be worth stashing CB and look at trading MVS or Mingo for some RB help... I just dont think Blue or Mafah can handle the load if Williams goes down

MVS doesn't play special teams I don't believe. And he seems to be hurt....a lot.
I'm only asking....do we really need MVS on this team? What do you think? We know the top 3, so I'd love to see a young(er) guy get # 4/5. Turpin I wish we'd just let him focus on the return game.

I don't think MVS adds a single thing to this roster.

Davis could handle the load. Also, take a look at the difference in the holes the OL was making in the 3rd and 4th compared to the 1st and second.

Yes its preseason and neither side was playing many starters for any length of time.

That said Seattle wanted to win that game and Dallas out played them. In years past we wouldn't have.

With any luck this will be a good team and a lot of fun to watch.

Last year we rolled a 6 WR.
Lamb
Pickens
Turpin
Tolbert
Mingo
Flournoy

This year's room could easily look like this if we roll with 6 WR again:
Lamb
Pickens
Flournoy
Turpin
Mingo
Brown

I think MVS probably stays, but I could see Brown being safe because Mingo goes. I think Turpin has a special role at KR, but, honestly, id be curious about Brown on returns too. But yeah, I could see Brown at #5 and MVS at #6.
I disagree but it's all opinions in here he's gonna go the same direction as whatever that dude from the Eagles Paris something Nah just 'cause he's a veteran doesn't mean he made the team I think you go with the younger player with upside..

And I can explain that real quick We already have four receivers that are penciled in I mean how many balls are there to go around when you add in tight ends and running backs that would be Lamb Pickens flow and Turpin that's it those are your starters that are gonna see the ball on a regular basis they're gonna be probably active for every single game that leaves no room for the rest so you might as well have developmental players there if you wanna put a veteran like MVS on the practice squad or something that's fine I mean you need an emergency guy..

but what you try not to do is expose players that showed something and it is just one preseason game we Can overreact but it doesn't really matter who 567 and eight are so I'm just gonna make those all young guys developmental guys

I like what I saw over ll, it is a good sign when you have depth and you see you 3rd stringers playing hard an making some plays, and we seem to have more quality depth this year than in some years past. I saw to many penalties "IMO" and some components of special teams needs some work also "IMO", over all I like what I saw so far. It has been a minute since we won our first preseason game and we did against the Sea Hawks no less, gotta be pleased with that at least.

Honestly, I'd like us to get Von Miller in on a one year deal.
I understand your desire to get him but not for just one year......unless we had unspent/unneeded cap money available.

Either get him for 2 years or wait and get somebody else for the 2027 season because I believe you cant go from the 30th ranked defense to SERIOUSLY competing for a chip in just 1 season.

I hope to be wrong though

MVS won't make the opening day roster because of his years of service. If he is on the active roter for the first game his salary becomes gauranteed for the rest of the year. They could bring him back for week 2 but he won't be there week 1.
