there is a ton of good music today. It is just not on radio like it used to be, thanks to corporate america.
Simply watch chuck and then download the music used in it, its outstanding. There are a ton of really really good indy rock bands.
I used to be one of the people that made comments like this, but then I opened my eyes and dug a little deeper in about 04 or so and started listening to the indy bands, and they are fantastic. Alot of the stuff that is in the indy rock scene would have been hits in the 80s because they would have been on the radio, but today they are on itunes, youtube and mtv2 at like 1 am.
Ra ra riot
Band of horses
Blitzen trapper
Your vega
Matt pond pa
bon iver
joseph arthur
okkervil river
spoon
the kooks
the shins
jet
Death cab
I could keep going but I am sure someone will pick up where I left off.
This song happens to be my favorite of last year, and the album is equally as good. They get no radio play and no attention, yet they tour all over the world and have a big fan base...

That song, imo would have been a hit single on the radio in the 80s or 90s. Today, it just isnt happening because radio basically doesnt exist.
