I don't think any QB worries too much about a receiver wanting the ball. They all want it, and QBs understand that.

What kills a QB is when the receivers start calling you out publicly or becoming locker room politicians, telling everyone how you aren't doing your job and aren't qualified to be leading this team. That's the ender.

More importantly, they both wanted Owens to catch the ball and just for once in his life to shut the hell up. While he did the former very well, he was/is never good at the latter and it has ultimately gotten him nowhere with two of three teams thus far.
