I Feel Much Better About Our Receivers

Honestly guys, leading up to this game, the thing that I feared the most is that we didn't have enough speed at the receiver position to be as effective as in the past, particularly with the departure of Owens.

I think those concerns have been alleviated. I knew Miles Austin was fast but also knew he could be incredibly inconsistent. But Roy Williams looked twice as fast as what I saw last year and the analysts mentioned that he had a hurt foot/ankle last year that was kept under wraps from the media. And Crayton just outran half of their secondary, although that safety did look painfully slow.

I feel good about things. Our receivers have more speed that what most were giving them credit for.

Never understood why no one in the media mentioned Roy's injury. It was mentioned by some of the Dallas media, but no one else. He had plantar fascitis, I believe the same thing that Newman battled a whole year with.

If Miles can make a few big plays a game I would be happy, because we have a pair of sure handed TE's and Roy and Crayton to help extend drives.

According to Roy's interview he lost 10lbs this offseason, so that could be another reason why he looks faster. Crayton has been working on his speed this offseason, and its paying off. Crayton has always had the ability to get past corners but now I think he has the ability to outrun them to the endzone.

I'm loving this offense, and I can't wait to see more....

He looks lean and mean now -- and he really seems to have a great attitude. Nice to see a receiver recognize that he has a good thing with the Cowboys, only takes a few years with the Detroit Lions to really make you appreciate it! LOL

I think he has a loping kind of stride which makes him look slower than he actually is. But the proof is in the pudding, he outran those two defenders and correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Tampa supposed to have some pretty fast defensive backs?

Just like Mario Manningham showed today with the Giants ... when you have a QB who can make all of his progressions, accurately deliver the ball and an OL that gives him time, WRs almost become ancillary. If you have 3-4 WRs with NFL talent talent running precise routes, its almost impossible for at least one of them to not get separation on a given play.
