I have been wondering if the team can take advantage of the Packers pursuit and throw a HB pass with Zeke?

Would go downfield to Williams..

or Dez if he plays.

Or even back to DAK going down the sideline..

but I think it's time to show it.

Anybody know if Zeke can throw?

Even a flea flicker would blow the Packers wild.

I remember Danny Reeves throwing a TD in the '68 NFC Championship game

and it was a beautiful play.

Like to see something surprising on Sunday.

Thoughts?

While at Ohio State - no passing stats, but:

But even then he reflects back to his high-school days and remembers throwing a couple of halfback passes for touchdowns, and suddenly he's itching for an opportunity to prove he can do that, too.

I sure miss those Landry years. Flea flicker was a thing of beauty.

The Bledsoe flea flicker was the one trick play that always seemed to work. For all the hate the statue got he had a fricking cannon.

These Saturday night "I have a feeling" posts always humor me.

Hey...halfback pass could happen but those require slow developing outside runs. Do the Cowboys do much of that?

You know, it's funny that you mentioned this, because I was thinking the same thing today. I came to the conclusion that if Zeke has reasonable accuracy tat the halfback pass will probably be used at some point, but it may not be quite time to do it yet.

The ideal time is when defenders are all out selling out against the run. LT used it to great effect when he was in his prime. They would load the box and it wasn't frequently used to the point teams weren't expecting it. I also don't think we use it unless we are behind a need a score. We haven't been in that situation often.

Good question..

but I thought Zeke actually started to do one again the Bingles..

he took the back on a sweep and went deeper from the LOS than usual..

he looked upfield and turned and continued the run to the sideline.

This is what made me ask the question.

It wasn't just a random suggestion.

so does anybody know if he threw one at Ohio.?

That tells me something..

and no doubt he has worked on it since then..

We run enough "trick" plays as it is.

Bootlegs, counters, screens, jet sweeps, playaction...

We don't need trick plays to win. If we need to run a passing play I'd roll with Dak handling the ball.

I agree we are going to beat them with good old smash them in the mouth football. I have a weird feeling that this is a blowout.
