I Figure 2 to 3 More Wins

We need to use our top pick on a QB and build for the future.
A luxury that the Cowboys can't afford. Far far too many needs.

If they were a playoff team it might be different. They aren't.

With our schedule that's going to be about it and that puts us around 5-12 or 6-11.

Problem is there are a bunch of crap teams this year so even that might push us out of the top 5.

McCarthy is gone after the season. We only have 32 players under contract for 2025 and around 29 million in cap. We need to use our top pick on a QB and build for the future. We haven't drafted a first round QB since Aikman in 1989. The problem with that is you need to be able to win with a QB on their rookie contract and you can't pay Dak 260 million to hold a clipboard. We are screwed.

Dak is regressing at an a accelerated pace now, we have a really bad offensive line and our best player Martin is about to retire. The young guys may develop but right now it looks like our picks on the oline are busts. CD is a very good WR but mentally the guy is very questionable and opposite him we don't have a real playmaker. Ferguson is an average TE at best he only had recognition because he wears a star. We have no running back talent and behind this line it wouldn't matter anyway.

The defense is pure garbage. We gave Diggs the bag and he's mailed it in. Lawrence is probably ready to retire We have zero talent at DT. The entire defensive line needs to be upgraded badly. Parsons is due for a record contract and we all know he isn't worth it. He's a luxury we can't afford on this team. We could trade him for a draft haul but that's not how Jerry rolls so he will get paid furthering our decline.

We are in trouble, the kind of trouble that can see us scrapping the bottom of the league for the next 3 to 4 years. I don't see a way out of it.

We could have let Dak walk, traded Lamb and Parsons for picks, let Lance play and see what he's got and it wouldn't have been any worse than what this season has been anyway. I hate this team.
I hope not. I want these losers to reveal themselves, from top to bottom, from jocks to socks.

These are just Jerry's Kids.

get that Alka-Seltzer ready... Thanksgiving may be difficult to digest

Dallas will find a way to win seven or eight games just to screw up the draft.

It’s hard to see 8 wins . 7 is a stretch . Next up AJ Brown and DaVonta Smith with a side order of Barkley . Defense should have this fire drill well contained ….not

You should know by now that we can’t have nice things. Watch Rush come in and win three in a row :muttley:

My problem with that is this. We've done that for 30 years to no avail. We have not drafted a pedigreed QB since Aikman. Yes we need players everywhere, why not start with the most important player if he's there when you pick?

Yes agreed, I was thinking he must be chalking up wins against the Giants and Panthers. Not sure who he sees as the 3rd W - Philly or Was? Not so sure about the first two anymore really, lol. Panthers just beat the Saints who embarrassed the Cowboys on their home turf earlier this season.
I think we beat the Giants and Carolina and we win an unlikely game against the skins, we have dominated them forever even when we had subpar teams. But it could go the other way also and we could lose out.

Cowboys need a RB, WR, DE/DT, MLB and OL.

You draft the best available in each round.
Do you trust the Joneses and McClay drafting anymore? I don’t. I have a bad feeling that if Deion’s son is available at our pick in the first round, Jerry will pick him. This organization is such a clown show and at this point all the Joneses want is attention/clicks. This should be an easy draft for the Cowboys. We have weaknesses everywhere but that is boring to the national media. Jerry wants attention. Expect Parsons to hold out until late August, Kellen Moore as the head coach, and head scratcher as a first pick. The Cowboys are a circus.

Great and accurate post.
To see the actual truth in writing is never encouraging when speaking on this team.
And unfortunately I believe the reality you posted here is spot on.

Do we have too many needs? Or are just horribly coached, disciplined, and motivated?
I think drafting a QB in the next year or 2 is smart. Dak can compete for the starting job and ask for a trade if he's not happy. You can't really evaluate players in this clown show.

I am now on team tank..hopefully they only win 2 more....need Philly to keep pace with Washington so the last game of yhe season they have to play starters

100% agreed.

This organization's inability to draft well keeps hurting any team they create each season. Look at all of the Olinemen they have drafted over the past 10 seasons. Only 1 (Zack Martin) remains a starter (aside from Tyler Smith), and Z. Martin is already finished as an effective starter. This organization simply doesn't draft well...or does not have the right coaches who can build up such drafted players and coach them up into better players/starters. So, this organization sucks at drafting and at hiring the right coaches. Recipe for disaster which we keep seeing going on 30 years now.

Like you said, this organization has simply become a circus for entertainment purposes only. Not much of a good football program at all.

Don't be surprised if Rush wins more games than any other Cowboys QB from here on.

you are about right...2 and if lucky 3 more wins... and a few more blowouts.

:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:Please Dak, take the rest of the season off or you really are going to get hurt.

Yep, I'm rooting for the draft pick at this point and a whole bunch of embarrassment for Jerry and his boy.

There are 11 teams with 3 or fewer wins. 9 with 2 wins and 2 with 3 wins including the Cowboys. But some of these team will be playing each other and it could change things. In teh AFC East for exampe, the Jets, Miami, and New England all have 3 or fewer wins. They will play each other and someone is going to pick up some additional wins.

Last year the Giants were 6-11 and drafted in the top 10. I think if Dallas finishes with 6 wins they will draft top 10 as well. I am not rooting for the Cowboys to lose, but if they lose to the Giants, it might make us sad on Thanksgiving but happy in April.

Season is done, almost no chance at playoffs now, it’s like 2% chance on the simulator.

Mathematically still possible, but for all practical purposes the Atlanta game eliminated us.
