As the worlds Biggest Badger fan Im very High on Paul Chryst as an offensive co. Think he is one of the best up and coming offensive minds out there. Would LOVE to see him in Dallas next year working under Garrett. By the look of this new article from a Madison paper, ..I just MAY get my wish!... Oh, and IMO it makes my lust for drafting Carimi in round 1 and Moffitt in round 2 a little more attainable!

Fingers crossed

Wouldn't mind that at all. I hope Garrett gets someone to help him run the offense while he establishes focus to detail and discipline in every facet of the organization.

I like coaches who have Masters Degrees. Bill Walsh, Tom Moore, Rex Ryan, Andy Reid.

Sorry bud, but I am clearly the world's biggest Badger fan, there is no bigger.

Paul would be welcomed here. Esp by me. And his salary would certainly go up.

It only makes sense that RJ would be interested in Chryst as his OC. The only question is who would be chosen as the 3rd member of the trinity.

:laugh2:

Very nice find indeed.
I want J Gar to hire a OC and let him call the plays.

If such a scenerio played out, I wonder if Chryst could bring in his longtime buddy Jim Hueber to be the OL coach, or if Garrett would still retain Old Man Houck.

Garrett needs to surround himself with excellence. I don't know that PP is the answer at DC. I'll leave that up to Garrett. I just hope that Jerry does as well. That's assuming Garrett gets the job.

I too would welcome him here but it appears as it should be that family is very important to him (has school age kids). NFL coaching jobs are never guaranteed especially with Jones. He might make more money here but if Jerry ever lets him go after maybe couple of years, that will be very tough on the family especially the kids. No job is security proof in this day of age unless you are a Supreme Court Justice but it is something that I would definitely think about before I jump to the NFL.

I miss the jump around dearly......have not been to Camp Randall since I relocated to KC, almost two years now. I miss Madison, I miss Janesville, my hometown, and I miss going to Badger games. :(

Didn't Aikman say on the Thanksgiving broadcast that Garrett wouldn't bring in an OC if he became the permanent HC?

no,....He said that Garrett wasnt sure if he wanted to give up PLAYCALLING. Lots of head coaches call their own plays IN GAME yet have an O.C...

Chryst could be the Marty Morningweg to JG's Andy Reid.

To me a HC is better off not spreading himself too thin. You are better off being able to observe everything at a distance/ not get caught up in one area, like calling plays.

Plus.....I like the fact that Chryst is an old Box guy. He sits up in the box scanning the whole field as he decides what play to call next. Garrett can be on the sidelines judging the pulse of the team and opponent, while Chryst cuts em to shreds from above!....LOVE IT. As an added bonus he's an old copenhagen Chewer from wayyyyyy back. Keeps his spitoon right with him in the box!....LOL

I would have no problem with this guy.

Wisconsin runs the football with a physical offensive line.

Also, I do think it's possible that Dallas drafts on the offensive line with it's first three picks. Broaddus made this comment. Dallas needs strong, athletic offensive linemen who work well in space. They need guys who can pull, seek, and destroy on runs and screens. The Cowboys need guys who can hold blocks and win at the point of attack and work in space.

Carimi is probably going to be a RT in the NFL, but he should project well right there. He would certainly be a huge upgrade at RT. Those Wisconsin guys will be highly thought of for sure.

I've read a report somewhere that Houck could quite possibly "retire".
