Now i love the guy and i still genuinely bealive he will get us number 6 but watching this year's post season after last year's success has left me wondering. Is he still the guy? I give him until Superbowl XLVII to deliver the goods. He's offensinve coordinater is now his head coach,no excuses Mr Romo. How long are you willing to give him?

There comes a point fore every QB to crap or get off the pot. Obviously a QB can't do it alone, and there are a lot of factors that go into winning a Super Bowl, but ultimately decisions have to be made if a guy is going to get the job done.

That said, I don't think Romo is in a situation where he has to win the Super Bowl in 2 years or he will lose his job, but I do think he has to do enough to convince people that he can do it. In that regard, stats aren't enough. He's made strides over his career to protect the football better, and that's part of it. He can't make poor decisions and costly mistakes at key moments. He has to win at crunch time in December. The team needs o get to and win some playoff games. Bottom line is throwing for 4,000 and not getting to the playoffs or getting in but losing quickly in the playoffs wont be enough to keep the questions about him from cropping up.

Very well put. My feelings exactly.

Romo hasn't had a defense like Sanchez, Big Ben, Brady (in their prime), Cutler (this year), Rodgers or Flacco. Now if he had one of these defenses backing him up and was playing bad I would understand. His defense hasn't really helped him out much in the playoffs. Neither has his offensive line for that matter. These QB's have been able to rely on their defense and SOLID o-line play. Romo BETTER not make a mistake or the other team is probably going to put 7 on the board going against this defense.

It seems like defense really plays the most important part in a championship run. You cause turnovers on defense, your QB gets more opportunities with the ball. Let see if Ryan can bring these defense to an elite level. If so, I believe Romo will quiet a lot of people. Now does he have his flaws, yes he does but so do the Qb's I first mentioned. You have to score points to win that is no doubt but you must have a defense that allows you more opportunities to put points on the board.

Plan -

1) Cut Romo, obviously a horrible QB.

2) Start drafting QB's, start signing QB's and enjoy a repeat of the pre-Romo post Aikman era of incompetence and absurdity.

I give Romo until he retires. He's one of the top QBs in the league. When the team stops sucking, we'll win a SB with him.

There's no excuse really? How about having a terrible offensive line with 4 of 5 lineman over the age over 30 and on the decline? How about the WORST defense in Cowboys history??? Huh? How about that? LOL. Romo haters are comical, the guy is easily a top 10 quarterback and argurably top 5 when healthy and you wanna dump him? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

A lot of our more ignorant fans don't realize how BAD this team actually is. In 2 seasons the guy is going to be the teams all time TD leader, scorer, and is one of the highest rated QBs in NFL history and they still think it's Romo's fault.

I'm happy with him as long as he's an awesome QB. Wake me up with these tired alarm clock threads the first times he shows a shred of evidence he's not.

I would treat Romo the same as every player on this team. If there is a better QB out there to replace Romo and it makes the team better, then go get him. If Andrew Luck had come out and fell in our laps at number 9, I would take Andrew Luck.

Having said all that, I don't see said replacement out there.

Cowboy defenses were rated 8 or 9 in 2007-9, so its not as if Romo had to overcome a bottom defense. In 2009 we only gave up 15.6 ppg (2nd in the NFL).

Not saying Romo is below par, but other than this year it's wrong to act as if our defense was the one thing that held us back.

Alsays a guy that moves into the ridiculous.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait to get these types of QBs back in here...

Quincy Carter
Chad Hutchinson
Drew Henson
Drew Bledsoe
Clint Stoerner
Ryan Leaf
Anthony Wright
Tony Banks
Vinny Testaverde

I mean, at least then we would know what we have (****) instead of all this questioning whether we got a guy who can win the Super Bowl or not? Amirite?

I have an ongoing bet with my friend's dad. He says Romo will NEVER win a Super Bowl. I bet him $20 that Romo wins the SB before he retires, or before he goes to another team. Easiest bet i've ever made.

Then you have never made any easy bets. Even if Romo is a Super Bowl caliber QB, the Super Bowl is not easily attainable. It was Elway's 15th season before he won one. Marino, Tarkenton, Moon, Kelly, Fouts and other great QB's never won one.

The 2009 playoffs we had a good team around him.

Still.. 2 years? He'll be here longer than that for sure.

I wonder how many more "bash Romo" threads will we have to endure before next season:facepalm:
