I give this draft a solid A

there is 180 change in our drafting philosophy, coincides with JG becoming head coach. Wish Jerry didn't wast 20 years to come to this realization

Really? Brown and Carrell were solid values.

I have no idea what that means. this is a 7th round pick, so complaining seems stupid, but calling Carrell a value pick makes the term meaningless. few had him as a draftable player

drafted for need, obviously a F because you can never ever draft for need, or so I've read on here for 13 years.

I am just glad they tricked the other GM's in the league so much so they could draft that LB'r to replace Jaylon.

I do fear that Taco may be an Ellis type player but I love our scouting dept and FO. A small part of me thought that adding Rueben Foster would have been a Dez type freakish impact player on Defense. I think he's the type to come in and wreck the league. Can someone explain why he wouldn't have made sense why nearly the entire first round didn't touch him. I just need to put it past me.

I think potential much better than awful. Adding JSmith, Paea, Tapper, Moore, Carroll, Blanton, Taco, Awuzie, Lewis, Woods. Improvement of DIrving, ABrown, Wilson, DLawrence playing without the bad back. That's 14 right there. Our losses - Carr, Claiborne, Church, Wilcox, JCrawford, McClain, Durant. Our DL should be much better, LB should be too if JSmith can play and Wilson's improvement. Secondary in the reedzone is an unknown with so much youth. Hopefully Scandrick is another year removed from his injury and Carroll gives us something.

Yea I highly doubt our defense won't be better than last year. I'm just saying there are many ifs regarding many rookies. There's potential for things to go wrong this coming year. But I think this draft will definitely help in the years to come. Let's hope sooner than later.

I'm having a hard time seeing awful in any capacity.

We addressed what needed to be addressed...

There were a few players i would of liked instead of the ones chosen, but the ones we picked were great.

Getting Xavier late was really good.

Chidobe at 60 is as about as good as it gets...he was a potential first rounder.

Lewis and Switzer look lights out as well.

Good for you!

Now let us grown ups wait and see how it works out.

Premature evaluator.

High five

agreed. We didn't use our first round pick on the secondary - we went first round in the front seven right after telling everyone else how awesome our front seven guy from last year was going to be.

and then you come in not understanding anything I was saying

high five dude!

Our defense could still potentially be awful. But it's nice to see a lot of youth at basically every positional unit on offense and defense. Let's just hope some of them turn into players.

I can't see it being any worse than last year. And that wasn't awful, as to points allowed. The pass defense was bad, and if these players fit Rod's scheme better than Mo & Carr, it will only get better.
May take half the season, and then even better in 2018. But it will not be awful this year.
