I Got Mockin' Pneumonia and Boogie Woogie Flu

Clayborn is 286 lbs. He could play DE for us.

Yep. Clayborn would be a holy terror as a 3-4 end. He'd be a great strong side 4-3 end and I think he could play tackle in certain 4 man fronts.

Great player.

First few times I saw him I thought he was just lucky. Now after seeing him make play after play I think he's a football player. He's like a bigger Jim Leonhard (NY Jets) to me. Willing hitter, decent enough athlete, and a nose for the ball.

lmao. Is that cause they both beeee white? Leonhard of all people. haha.

It isn't even the middle of the week, but I am bored. So I thought I'd do a Mock to sharpen my wits. Rip it apart if you wish. It's early and I will make a lot of misakes.

BTW, you see my pet cat Danario Alexander score his first TD for the Lambs? Not bad for a guy who wasn't even on Draft boards at the start of last year and wasn't drafted because of knee problems. Kid put up some sick numbers at Mizzou.

Enough stalling. Let's talk Christmas presents.

1. Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina, 6'2", 210. Was suspended to start the year, but is back playing now and it shows why he was missed. This kid is just aching to be a ball hawk. Last year 8 Pass Defenses and 6 Picks. He is a solid tackler who reads run very good and can play deep coverage. Is he our dream Safety? For now, he fits the prescription.

2. Stefen Wisniewski, C, Penn State, 6'3. 300.
We drafted his uncle, but we did it for the Raiders. He is only one of the best to ever play. You know how big I am on pedigree. This kid has it. He is a mauler. I like O'Dowd of SC, but I think his injuries are going to scare a lot of teams. It is a risk to take center this high, but John Mangold is anchoring the best OL in the NFL and we need to fix the blocking.

3. John Moffitt, OG, Wisconsin, 6'5, 320. I spent much of last Saturday watching the Wisconsin OL open holes for John Clay to run against Ohio State. I feel the Cowboys have to address Interior OL and in high rounds. This is a guy who will fight from snap to whistle.

4. Mason Foster, ILB, Washington, 6'2", 245.
For the Huskies he plays OLB. I think he is out of position. This guy is a prototypical 3-4 ILB. He played spy on Jacquizz Rodgers of Oregon State and made tackle after tackle after tackle. Smart, aggressive player who will only get better because he is instinctual. He played in run support, coverage, and was equally adept at both. He'll climb draft charts. That is my prediction. For now, he fits here.

5. Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa, 6'4", 225. I just have no trust in McGee and I like smart QBs. Stanzi fits that to a T. I think he could develp into a starter. Perfect timing for when Romo decides to hang 'em up possibly? I don't know, but I do know this kid is football smart. You can see it. Future Head Coach kind of smart. I like that.

6a. Owen Marecic, FB, Stanford, 6'1", 245. I am projecting Crayton will do enough to move from a 7th conditional pick to a 6th conditional pick. I love FBs. Especially ones who love contact and this kid soaks it up like gravy. He also plays ILB for the Cardinal and is so physically fit that he may set a record for minutes played in a season. His motor never stops.

6b. Brandon Hogan, CB, West Virginia, 5'10", 190. This kid can fly. He should run a sub 4.4 time in the 40. Some off field issues with drinking will drop his draft stock, but I think he is worth the low risk attempt to salvage. he also returns some punts. Gotta have CB depth, but don't want to spend early.

7. JaQuizz Rodgers, RB, Oregon State, 5'7", 191. Miami's conditional pick for Pat McQuistan. Our pick was used for Josh Brent. I think Choice or Barber will be gone after this year. Quizz is not a full time ball carrier, but he is explosive. He can be used as a return man and on 3rd downs where he is very good catching the football. In the open field he is almost impossible to catch. He wastes no time finding top speed.

I highly, highly, highly doubt Rodgers lasts that long. Especially when he runs a 4.3 at the combine.

Why'd you replace Williams with Mcdaniels? I prefer Williams but just interested as to why you switched them up. And I think Deunta is already a ballhawk.

I am pretty sure Quizz is only a Junior because I played against him when I was a senior in the state championship.

I also don't think that he will ever sniff the 7th round. He's way too good for that no matter how small he is.

Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa (Senior)
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 220
Projection: 4th-5th Round
Last Updated: September 4th, 2010
Strengths: Prototypical measurables – Elite leadership and intangibles - Unshakably confident – System experience is a huge plus – Effective on play-action and other fakes - Good arm strength – Improving accuracy - Throws very well on the run.

Weaknesses: Throwing mechanics from the pocket need work – Doesn’t step into every throw – Footwork and balance need tuned – Has a tendency to lock onto a receiver – Tries to fit the ball into tight spaces a bit too often – Decision making needs work.
Combine:
2009 Stats:
56.3% Completion, 2417 Yards, 17 Touchdowns, 15 Interceptions

I watched the UNC Clemson game and just thought he moved so fluid that he is a more natural player. That was with possible rust from the layoff. Just liked what I saw a lot.

.

Assuming, we make the playoffs, and there is still a chance at that, but getting slim, Wisniewski wont be there when we pick, will be gone about mid 2nd round pick somewhere around 40th pick, so your going to have to be creative, and move up to get Stefen and some of your other picks. So far, I see the Cowboys picking based on their won loss record so far, anywhere from 11th pick to about the 25th pick. Settling in around the 17th pick. Even if we pick around there, your still going to have to trade up in each rounds to get players you mentioned, most of them are pretty good picks, but will be long gone about time we pick.

I am hopeful that we can get a 3rd or 4th round compensation pick for Flozell Adams, and a 6th to 7th for Ken Hamlin.

that would allow you to trade up in 2 to 3 rounds to get some good players, say about 7 to 12 spots higher, using the 3rd or 4th rounder, and other extra picks we have, if we do get compensation picks.

Finally, I still feel this team is still real close, but right now, needs some impact players in trades like we did in 1992 when we traded for charles haley and thomas everett safety from pittsburgh.

We need some playmakers like jimmy johnson used to call them like Haley and Everett were that took the ball away and made turnovers. What weaknesses do we have on this team now, players teams fear, and that make turnovers, hince haley and everett safety. I think we have the future safety on board in ansah, but sooner or later he has to play and get his feet wet at safety because alan ball isnt getting the job done.

I think you may have picks 1 & 2 flip flopped.

Wiz could go in 1 and Deunta 2 due to the suspension and his stock being lower than it otherwise would have been ala Dez.

Joe, we will not get any compensatory picks for them. We released them. They do not qualify for compensatory picks.

You beat me to it.

Almost 24 hours later I'm still waiting for an edit to include a kicker somewhere.

I kid I kid.

Finally, someone besides me knows about him.

I know about Foster. I watched UW a lot last year because Donald Butler, last year's 3rd round LB from there went to my HS.

I think we need more of an impact player at ILB.

Someone like Greg Jones or Kelvin Sheppard.

Besides Ratliff we have no playmakers up the middle.

I rather have Akeem Ayers*, OLB, UCLA
Height: 6-4. Weight: 252.

Ayers' game tape against Texas. He can drop in coverage, play the run, and really compete on the field. There is no denying his talent level, but when I watched his game against Washington State he was a little invisible and didn't make his presence felt enough. As a pass-rusher, he is a little overrated

than Greg Jones
