I was looking at some things online and something triggered a memory for me. I was re-looking at poke's thread of pictures from the game. There's the link if you want to look. Picture #31 is a picture of Cowboy Bob the Cowboys original mascot or logo. For those not sure what Bob looked like, here you go...

1960_Dallas_Cowboys_gd.gif

That got me to thinking about how graphic art has evolved so far to what we have today. I remembered that when I got the Dallas Cowboys Weekly there was a Fan Club and I joined it. They had some stickers that were of a very generic helmet. The only image I could find was on e-bay so this image will expire. If anyone has an image PM me and I will post it.

Cowboys Fan Club Sticker

I PMed bbgun, who always has great Historic Cowboys pictures and asked him about that logo. Right as I did I decided to check e-bay and they had two, including the one you see posted above.

That sticker was really shiny metallic in color. Bright metallic blue and almost chrome silver. They used to sell them in a sheet of 4. There was a big one and then below 3 smaller ones. I found a similar image but of the Seahawks. They looked like this.

seahawks-helmetstickers.JPG

And like I said, the Cowboys ones were shiny metallic in appearance.

Does anyone else remember those stickers? I had them everywhere. I put them on all my notebooks. I put one on my bike. I had the Dallas Cowboys license plate for my bike with the same image. I put one on my bedroom window facing in so I could see it with the sun shining behind it. I loved those stickers.

Now, they seem so plain.

One thing that has never been plain though is the cheerleaders. How many of you also had this poster on your walls?

CHEERLEADERS77POSTER.jpg

I fell in love with redheads because of the redhead on the left. I looked it up on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders website and I think her name was Suzette Russell. I was smitten with her whatever her name was.

Like I said, I got nostalgic today.

Great, great thread. Good find, Hos.

The poster I had.................However, I still have the deck of playing cards with the same cheerleaders.

Hos, I'm to young to remember that, of course, ha. But we have that exact sticker on 4 of our mirrors at my parents house back home. They are still there

What Hos didn't tell you is that I've been traded to The Ranch for Nors and a case of Leinenkugel's. Speaking of nostalgia, here's some vintage authentic gear that was auctioned recently.

There is no trade for Nors. He isn't worth a 1st round pick. For that matter he isn't worth a 21st round pick.

Hey Hos, if you want you can have Cowboy Bob on your wall; just follow this link:

http://www.fogdog.com/product/index...=73336856&affiliateCustomId=&affiliateId=3578

There's a website called http://www.thefind.com where you can search for any kind of merchanside sold online (that's how I found the link to the online retailer above). If you search for "Dallas Cowboys Merchandise", or get crafty, like searching for "Dallas Cowboys Wool Pennants" or "....throwback" or "...vintage" you can find some pretty cool nostalgic Cowboys stuff sold by numerous online retailers. I did that with the wool pennants (serached "Dallas Cowboys Wool Pennants") and got to these graphics below. I'm planning to order these soon. They're pretty cool.

I would certainly hope not... Nors was funny, but his humor was quite unintentional... bb is the real thing when it comes to comedy...

Hostile, I think that is Dorothy Hamil in the background on the right.

No problem, but before you do, do a search on www.thefind.com for "Dallas Cowboys Signs" because many different kinds of signs come up. You might have to go through the various pages, but you'll see that there is a metallic version of the Cowboy Bob sign available as well. There's probably others too that you might like better. Like I said, if you get crafty with your word searches on that website you can find some really cool, off-the-beaten-path, kinds of Cowboy gear.

Happy searching, and Go Cowboys! :D

I just ordered the sign on Amazon. $7 off, so it retails for $17.99. To find it I typed "Dallas Cowboys Retro Wood Sign" in Amazon's search thing.
