So my sister got them for me on my birthday. And so far I like them. Harder to do than normal push ups, but it works more muscles.

Anyone else have these?

I got them for my son. He loves them. I tried them and all I could do is laugh at myself. I won't embarrass myself with how few I did, but it was very laughable

Love em. They give a pretty good workout IMO. Now have you seen the perfect pull up though??

No, but I like the look of them. I used to love pushups when I read the article in SI about how Herschel Walker did that instead of weight training. I invented a flying pushup or my workout and I can still do it though with not as many tricks. My whole body is off the ground.

has anyone tried these pushups:

you get in a push-up position

then you lower yourself, but not like a regular pushup, probably leaving your chest 5-6" from the ground

hold that position for 2 seconds 1 mississippi, 2 mississippi

then lower to about an inch and a half from the ground regular pushup style, hold for 2 seconds

then go back up to 5-6" from the ground, hold for 2 seconds

go back up to the starting position, hold for 2 seconds

repeat

anyone? that's like the total body pushup

I've also tried doing pushups clenching 2 dumbells on the floor, w/ my arms glued to my sides, good for your back, along w/ your chest

I use dumbbells for push ups which basically do the same thing.

For me, I can lift and lift and lift, but when I do pushups it just makes me stronger.

I like the perfect push ups but wouldn't want to pay 40 bucks for just a couple of handle bars.

Just do more pushups.

Me too. The only advantage I see for those things is the ability for rotation on upward and downward movement which allows the working of slightly different muscle groups for a more pervasive workout.

I don't have any but I've seen them at Wal-Mart for about 20 bucks. I tried some out there and they do seem to work pretty good. I might get some eventually.

Until someone does a pushup on a hardwood floor, dumbells roll outward and you know the rest...

The best way to get more intensity out of push ups is to superset them with cable flies while doing them close grip style.

I also read about Hershel and as a kid did tons of push-ups but they never gave me any added size just some strength gains. And I could run through 100 of them in a single set.

Anyone under 25 should just skip push ups altogether and just do squats. lol. You will see more results from a properly executed set of squats than you will anything.

Stick to compound movements: Squats, Deadlifts, Clean and Jerk.

I have no upper body strength. I'm working it by playing the Wii I won. Man, were my arms sore the next day.

Get the Wii fit... it's a really good accessory and it keeps logs of everything you do. It will log your balance, weight, age keep track of your exercises, suggest plans. It's a really good tool...
