I guess I'm the only one disappointed in Phillips comments about our offense.

First of all, where do you see the "talent to be special"?

Gurode was our best OL, but is he SPECIAL? Adams? Rivera? Kozier? I don't think so. And while Colombo was a pleasant surprise, special is not the adjective for him.

Romo looks like he will be SPECIAL, but how special? Right now he's still inexperienced enough that we had to deal with some growing pains as a starter.

JJ and Barber made a nice tandem...but are they SPECIAL? Would anyone in the NFL give you a 2nd round pick this spring before the draft for either of them? I don't call that special.

We do have a special TE, though he's not the blocker he should be.

Glenn and T.O. are the only other players on this offense who have ever been SPECIAL in their careers, and while both are still very good, neither is still going forward...both are less than they were and SPECIAL won't be around for long.

My point? The offense has far less talent than the defense...we have neglected the offense for quite a while (when we weren't simply blowing bad draft picks on it).

Our offense needs some serious work and upgrading, in my opinion.

Yes.

So what does Jerry do?

Hire a DC as HC and put the Offense in the hands of....

Jason Garrett.

This should be an interesting season.

The last offensive player we took in the first round was LaFleur. Before that i was alvin harper.

2 offensive players in 15 years.

Of course, that doesn't include trading away 2 first rounders for Galloway, taking Carter with our first pick of the draft and the same with Jones, but the point is that while defense does win championships, Jones has long neglected properly building this offense.

This just proves that you will never have everyone happy.

Seriously, if you weren't pleased with the offense last year, you'll never be pleased. Could it improve? Sure, but my god if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I know, right? last year's O was the wide-open attack everyone was pining for, now it's not good enough

No REMEMBER, it was Parcells who had his hands all over the playcalling on BOTH sides of the ball. He couldn't let go and allow the OC to do his job.

:banghead:

Perhaps it was the control freak's hands that got you the 27 point average last year. Ever think about that?? Dare it be possible that had he not "meddled" in the play calling (how dare a head coach) that you may have been dead last in points per game??? There were definately alot of things that could have been done better, but I've yet to meet anyone reputable with a crystal ball. Players play the game...coaches only tell them what to do. Dropped passes, botched field goals, poor O-line blocking, rotten defense probably can contribute as well to this teams problems more than a "restrictive" play caller whose offense produced two 1000 yard WRs and a 1000yd RB....Oh, and another RB who led the conference in TDs.

One, have you ever heard of this one guy named Tony Sparano?

And two, aren't you the guy who had a Quincy picture as your signature for so long?
