I Guess KJ Wright is a No-Go

After taking Parsons and Cox, LB is no longer a major need even if we have to move on from Smith or LVE. But I do think that bringing in a veteran CB to bridge the gap till Joseph is 100% acclimated to the league would be a smart move. Hayward, Breeland or Nelson would fit the bill. Also, I think that we could use some more veteran depth on the OL and Fisher, Schwartz and Villaneuva would fit the bill if they would sign to a cheap, prove it one year contract. Any other spots we need to shore up with free agents?

I don't think they'll bring anyone else in except camp bodies. Joseph would benefit more long-term by sprinkling some salt and throwing him right to the wolves like we did with Diggs.

I wouldn't mind signing Villanueva though.

It's been a no go for awhile.

People have been critical of Mike Fisher during this entire draft process, but he had actually been in contact with KJ Wright and was advocating for the signing for months. KJ told him that it wasn't happening. Stephen probably gave him an "honest offer" and it wasn't good enough, because there was some interest there.

Would be a treasure of riches if Bernard could come out and be ready to compete as well.

I wanted him so that would be one less draft pick to have to focus on at linebacker...with the draft falling the way it did....we don't need him.

What it indicates to me is Dallas knowing LB had to be addressed waited to pursue the draft options before spending cap on the position.

No one else has signed Wright so perhaps his asking price is more than teams think he is worth?

He’s unnecessary at this point. We have two guys who can be as good or better if healthy. We also have jaylon who makes plays once in a while.

I am glad. I didn't want to spend money on a 31 year old LB, when we clearly aren't ready to compete this year....he would have been 32, 33 by the time we are ready...glad we didn't sign him.
