I guessing DiNucci gets some playing time this week

With the Cowboys o-line playing with a bunch of scab players this week I can easily see Ben DiNucci getting a lot of playing time for A. No production from Dalton (not really his fault however) or B. and I'd hate to say it injury.

Ben could use some game time experience but I hate that it may happen during a critical divisional game. I hope Dalton is prepared to run out of the pocket for his life.

Only due to injury. This front office still wants to win games so they will continue with Dalton untill these non NFL linemen get him killed.

Why on earth would you put in DiNucci behind a line that can't protect? He's going to have a hard enough time reading the opposing defense if the protection is sound due to his inexperience. Unless Dalton is physically incapacitated, playing DiNucci would be a horrendous idea.

Cant see then going to Nooch voluntarily.

I do worry about Dalton getting out of this game healthy.

The matchup is really poor up front, and this Steele guy is gonna get someone hurt before all that long.

Not yet. Dalton isn't here to not play. They're going to give him a chance. If the Cowboys are like 2-7 or worse, then I can see it happening at some point. But not after one start.

I hope Ben is the future at the QB position, but I would be much more excited to see a top young QB drafted in this next draft that would be the first piece in a massive rebuild that would clear the roster of the current lineup of gutless wonders that are embarrassing the team.

So, three more games?

Our QB is the furthest thing from a "gutless wonder". Why jettison the league leader in passing ? Makes zero sense.

Maybe Dinucci has a good relationship with the backup OL’s during practice and being a backup QB himself.

Well, when would you consider the season over? Record wise that is. If the Eagles jump out in front and we keep losing, what now is the point of continuing to play Dalton? Pointless IMO. Now it's time to evaluate players across the board.

I'm of the mind this season is over now. Every game we win will hurt us in the draft and we need to get a difference maker. Doesn't matter which side of the ball. I'm not saying tank, were not good enough to do that. Let's look at and evaluate who we have now so that we can set up for the future.

That's not how they're thinking and they didn't get Dalton to quit now. Dalton is there for a reason. When that reason fails they'll move on IMO. The question is when do they come to that conclusion? It's not going to happen when we're a half game out of first place. That I can assure you.

Dallas doesn't need to tank. They are doing just fine trying their best.

I'm well aware of how Jerry thinks. He's stubborn and short sighted. Unwilling to make hard decisions unless forced. A victim of the sunk cost fallacy.

If we're hoping to see good things from the Nooch at some point down the line, throwing him to the wolves could have a the opposite effect. He's still an undrafted FA. And as interested I am to see him play, I think you can kill any progress he's making if you put him in too soon.

Picture a preseason game where we have our 3rd string Oline while the defense has kept its starters in. Do you really want DiNucci to come in and play?

Ben DiNucci isn't playing until the Cowboys are out of contention.

And given how historically bad the NFC East is this year, that won't be for quite a while.

I’d like to see a Gabbert / Dinucci competition the rest of the year maybe we can luck out w one of them.

Dinucci wont play. Garrett Gilbert would most likely come in if Dalton goes down.
