Home owners insurance or rental insurance...?

I don't think his rental insurance will cover it. If he's like me, he didn't waste his money on it. LOL

Since when do iPod's have GPS's in them? I didn't think they did. So how would you track it?

The little app from the store only works for GPS enabled devices. ;)

Just want to say that this is incorrect.

You don't need GPS to track some devices.

Certain algorithms i.e. wifi-triangulation can track devices.

Hope you find your stuff.

Thanks guys.

I talked to the insurrance people and they said they couldn't do anything about it.

It sucks but oh well.

Im thinking about buying a refurbished Ipod since I didn't use my old one a whole lot.

Anyone ever had any luck with a refurbished itouch?

I can't say anything about a refurbed iTouch, but I have purchased a few refurbed AAPL products and never had a problem. They practically replace everything that's cosmetic. Even change out batteries.

He's an illiterate troll. Let him be.

Im an illiterate troll? Oh really? You are on more ignore lists than anyone I have ever encountered on CBZ, and you call me the troll?

:laugh2: You get your butt hurt more often than not in most debates you force yourself into. You get your clock cleaned and then you dance around your very own arguments, thus making yourself look MORE of the 5 yr old.

But I am the troll! :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

The hypocracy is laughable. :D

Some refurbished stuff is new and has been open and returned. With Apple having a low return rate, who knows what you may get.

Check ebay. There are good deals on there. Although you run a minimal risk, it's rather consumer friendly and can be easy or difficult buying stuff from there.

In any case, I had something stolen from me recently. I found it parted out on craigslist. It's a long story, but I just wrote it off and never called the police.

I am still in communication with the suspect and since I have his personal info, i'm trying to figure out a way to get it back without getting anyone involved. It's just a 150cc scooter. Technically, the title is in my brother's name. But I won't ever speak to him again. And he has my title and scooter, which I was going to report stolen. :D

Dude, it sucks getting stuff stolen. But it's good it didn't make or break you. I've been there and it sucks.

With specific hardware address information I can see this working, but w/o it is my point. Your typical user isn't writing down the mac address of his her personal mobile devices.

I wonder if Catch wrote down his mac-address? Maybe you can get it and triangulate it down to where it is at.

From your article though, you would probably need to know the 20 or so AP's in the immediate area while the device was connected to a wi-fi network in order to do so, huh?

Still not easy and still not an option for regular Joe user like Catch.

I don't know anything about the iTouch, but I do know that my wife's iPad 2 (wifi-only) can download _Find My iPhone_ and pinpoint her iPad when it's at my mother's, aunt's and my house.

Point being - it's readily available for IOS devices. In fact, once iCloud comes out you'll be able to track Macs as well.

Also, look into Prey Project. They have been doing it for years.

With that guarantee I'm surprised you've never heard of wifi-triangualtion.
