I hate DirecTV...

Its a long story. I dont have the patience to get into right now.

But in short, my HD stations never come in. I finally had enough and called technical support for the third time and the guy was a waste of time. While I was on the phone with the guy, he kept on asking the girls around him what kind of panties they were wearing, if they were wearing there T-Backs or full panties...then he tells me I need to spend 80 bucks on a service call.

So I call and haggle with customer service monday night for about 3 hours. I got hung up on Twice and the third time I called the retention line and spent 40 minutes on hold where I was promised, 4 months of credit for my hd package, 5 bucks off my bill for 12 months, starz and encore for 6 months free and no charge on the service call.

Well yesterday the tech guy came and said all I needed was to change the cables in the back of the box to the wall outlet. So we did and it worked, that was at noon. At 8 at the start of the 2nd period of the stars game the hd went out again and I had to watch it in standard again.

Now here is the kicker. I still havent received the starz they promised me, I have not been given the 40 dollar credit for the hd being out and I got billed within like two hours of the tech guy leaving my house for a service call plus they added the protection plan. So my bill was actually more this month.

I was with my son all day yesterday and today and cant get on the phone with them, so now I have to waste a third day tomorrow arguing with them.

I would love to get one of the two women on the phone again who hung up on me. I am giving them until the end of tomorrow to have it all resolved. I really think the guy just lied and didnt give me the starz, there is no reason he couldnt turn it on monday night. He told me the system was being updated. Sure.

anyway, Like I said I hope their satellites explode and then land on their call centers.

:laugh2:

DTV has On Demand now. I haven't hooked it up, yet. When I do, I'll let you know how it goes.

My only bad experience with DTV has to do with them wanting their payment on time. Go figure them wanting to be paid on the actual due date.

I've had that due date problem as well....

I recently got the On Demand working. Right now I'd score it about a b minus. Searching for content is a little cumbersome, and though I have FIOS internet service, both of the On Demand movies I've purchased have paused repeatedly in the middle waiting for the download to catch up. I'm hoping this improves as they add more capacity.

Unless your opposed you can set up drafting of your acct. They will never forget to remove funds from your acct. I promise.

They do have a tendency to tell you you'll get credits and what not only to not only give you the credits, but add services and charge you more. And then when you call them on it, they conveniently don't have any info about what they promised you before and aren't able to give you those credits (or at least not as good). It took me 3 months to get all my credits back for when they added the service plan and showtime to my account without my permission. They'd credit me for what they charged, but then not credit the late charge for canceling early, and then the next time I checked it'd be back on there. They are very dishonest in how they run things. You need to keep track of the day and time you call as well as the name of the person(s) you talk to.

I'm already looking forward to my annual battle to get SuperFan at no charge. I'm sure football season will be half over before it finally gets done correctly.

I had DIRECTV from Feb 95 to March 08. Only had one problem with them in all those years. Theebs, you just have bad luck.
I've had it roughly the sametime as you burmafrd....

and I can't think of any problem I've had....

I never had Direct TV, but I have Dish Network and I really enjoy it.

I only have cable to compare it to, though.

Theebs you are going about this all wrong; 1st get there names and write it down the next line out of your mouth should be the word un-acceptable; do not ask me why but that word always gets the idiots attention and I got more accomplished with that word also have a tone to your voice not a yelling one but stern direct and I ain't playing games tone. Soon as they start in there little talk they say no I need to talk to a manager and now.

Trust me this has worked for me every time including getting late fees removed etc; this will work with any of those type call centers

Direct TV customer for many years. Great service, great reception and no issues -
