I Hate Driving

Driving is fun. Driving mostly straight stretches of road on an interstate, however, is not.

I love a road trip. I just enjoy the entire experience from the driving itself, to listening to music, to finding places to eat, to grabbing little snacks at gas stations along the way, etc.

Back in December, I made the one way drive from Dallas to Seattle. It ended up being 4 full days of driving and some of it was in really nasty winter weather. At the time, when I was on I-84 in Oregon doing about 30 MPH on a snow/ice covered interstate, I remember wanting it to be over, but looking back? I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. :D

Me too, but not in a car. On a bike. One of these days I am going to start in San Diego, ride up the Pacific Coast to Washington. Head all along the upper 48 to Maine. Then ride down the East Coast all the way to Key West and finally just criss cross back and forth across America. Hit the old Route 66 and just see it.

If you ever do it, make sure you drop me a line when you pass through Washington DC. We're going to Ray's The Steaks.

Ugh.

9 hours of road time comin up. Not looking forward to it.

I so wish speed limits were just a little faster. Like 50 MPH or so.

At least it's not W. Kansas.

Going to do 5hrs shortly for some Friday Night Lights to watch grandson play.

It's down hill to the Permian Basin so won't be bad .

I did my traveling with kids with only radio, you have audio stories, dvds,tv,and I phones and lots of potty breaks.:laugh2:

I was thinking bike myself. The only reason I am not somewhere in the Pacific Northwest right now is because of a major software conversion we are enduring at work.

Next year though.....

I took 70 on the way out last year. Took 50 on the way back. 50 was much more interesting.
