I Hate Garrett's Demeanor

I want to bring this up because it bothers me. Why is it that when there is an obvious penalty being made against the Cowboys and no call is made why doesn't Garrett say anything?

I've seen many times Bryant getting mugged or our Dline getting held, yet there is no call made. Garrett just lets those things slide as though its part of the game.

Yet when a ticky tack foul which is not even a foul is called against the Cowboys like that PI against Scandrick. Garrett still doesn't dispute it or doesn't work the refs like the other coaches do. He seems so robotic with his demeanor which seems that he doesn't know whats going on.

This is why I think refs are eager to call fouls against us because they know that Garrett won't say a word or that they know they can get away with it. Thats the problem with this team. They don't bring the issue of bad calls being made and let it slide as though it doesn't affect the game. It does.

The holding play on Smith could be considered a questionable call. Just about every coach would have contested the ref or tell the ref thats a bad call or something. But Garrett doesn't say a thing. His demeanor is annoying and it doesn't help this team at all.

Just my two cents.

He does more than is shown on TV. Garrett can actually get relatively animated, but you'll never seen him just in a ref's face like a Harbaugh or a Parcells. Demeanor is pretty far down the list of things I'm annoyed about with Garrett.

Crying gets you nowhere. I dont care to see a coach through a hissyfit because of bad calls.
I just want to see a well coached team.

How do you know he doesn't?

By the way, he did complain about the Scandrick PI call and Smith was holding.

His demeanor drives me nuts. You are exactly correct in your observation, I really think the guy has no idea what is going on out there. His craning of his neck to view the scoreboard after every bad play is also horrible.

And the ultimate thing is his "how we doing guys" after that gut wrenching defeat in his post game press conference with his smug little smile. Show some emotion ya dope.

NO I didn't say hissy fit. But he should be challenging the refs when he sees an obvious bad call. He takes every call as if the refs always makes the right calls and they don't.

I get what your saying. Youd just perfer to see more emotion, right? Everyone has their own idea of how a coach should act I guess.
Personally, I like a guy who keeps his cool.

Not saying to challenge every call. But when there are obviously bad calls going against us he doesn't question it at all. He could also start mention those no calls against us such as the absolute mugging on Bryant and some holding penalties not being called against us. Mentioning to the refs that you see it and they don't shows that there is some favoritism involve. That doesn't mean throwing hissy fits at the refs at all.

I think in part this goes back to the position he played. He was probably taught at a young age as a developing QB, to keep your cool, stay focused and dont let things bother you that you cant control.
Dont mistake this for me defending the guy. Because I do believe that, if not overdone, working the officials can pay dividends later in a game.

I don't know. Most people are more likely to listen to your complaint if they know you're not going to scream at them and make them look bad by making a scene. In the end, refs are just people.

Yet another baseless and completely off-mark wishful comparison of Jason Garrett to Tom Landry.

This idiocy is easily one of the more insulting things I keep seeing get repeated over and over like it is supposed to be factual for some strange reason.

Correct. It is insane when someone says something negative about Garrett and people immediately say that Tom Landry was the same way. As if somehow this justifies things. Brutal attempt to defend this guy. Some people just don't like to hear that their baby is ugly.

I wish that were true. Seems the coaches/players that cry the loudest and most often get the most beneficial calls at the most beneficial times.

If only that weren't the case.

Garrett doesn't say anything to the refs at all. Doesn't ask questions like " my people are being held all game but there is no call. Can I ask why?" No hissy fit, no foul. Just something that coaches often do during the game.

Not saying that youre totally wrong. Take a look at some of the worse teams in the league. Those coaches look about a inch away from a MI

I agree that you need to work the officials for later in the game when there is a borderline call / no-call.
I think the Harbaugh boys may take it too far, but you definetly cant sit back and act like you dont have a spine.
