Billy Volek was informed that Matt Mauck will start ahead of him Sunday if Steve McNair can't play.
Volek may have played his last snap as a Titan. He wants to be traded in the off-season, and a move like this indicates that Tennessee could be willing. Dec. 30 - 11:23 am et

Volek has played really well when I have watched him.

NFL Experience: 6
height: 6-2

^^there are his career stats, he's been with TEN his entire NFL career

He's pretty good if you ask me. I'd much rather have Matt Schaub, for some reason i just feel that Schaub will grow into a great NFL QB. Volek aint half bad though, check out his career stats as a backup.

Why bother, the Fins will give up too much for him. That's what they do.

If you didn't notice him last season when McNair was hurt then I'm amazed.

He played something like 10 games and tore it up.

Look at his stats from 2 games last season.

29-43, 426, 4 TDs 0 INT
40-60, 492, 4 TDs 1 INT and 1 rushing TD

Granted these were his best efforts but that's not too shabby for a backup.
He has over 60% comp in his career and a QB rating of 86.5.

Basically though, Ive watched him play. He's looked impressive to me every time. I think many are sleeping on him.

I just assume keep Bledsoe and draft a young gun for the future. That's just me.

If he can be our future for the next 7 years, I'm all for it then.

Volek turns 30 in March. That gives him about 5-7 good years left in the NFL. I'll take him. I mean the stats dont lie, the guy can play!!!!!!

Volek had some great chemistry with Drew Bennett last year, they had a great run of a few games together.

Personally, if we had the opportunity, though he just signed a new deal, David Garrard.

I'd take Volek over Schaub anyday. He's proven over a longer term that he can get the job done, and in a more open style offense. Schaub has only played in a west coast style offense, all the way back to his time in Virginia. There's no telling how he would play in a non-WCO.

I don't see the Falcons getting rid of him, anyway, with Vick getting dinged more and more each year. And if they do, they are gonna ask for quite a bit for him.

Not worth the risk, IMO.
