I hate the bye week

Just wait until there is two bye weeks…..it is coming.
There will be a 20-game schedule by then.

I agree that the bye week should be league wide. Another poster suggested the trade deadline. The other sports take a break around all star games but the NFL simply cannot play an all star game midseason.

Yes, lads, 17 grueling games is a lot for NFL players to get through in a season.

But if you athletes are paid CEO salaries, play the entire schedule without the break.
And if the players absolutely need a break, give the entire league a bye week at the same time.
None of this "we are tied with so-and-so in the East but gotta wait till team X gets back from the bye."
Many complain about Daylight Saving Time, the Electoral College and the Bye Week, but no one does a thing about them.

Blimey, get rid of the bye week!
Remove another pre-season game, so only play 2 preseason games.

Add another by week for all teams. Each team gets one early and later.

Increase season games to 18.

Mandatory lottery 8 games a year played in other countries and if your team is picked, you give up a home game to represent the NFL across the seas. (Jerry won't like this)

Playing NFL games overseas in other countries is a complete waste of time.

Ive long since thought the best thing to do would be simply split the week 9 schedule over 2 weekends. So play 8 games in week 9 then the other 8 games in week 10.
Every team gets a week off in mid season and the standings are only confused for 1 week.

This bye is killing all of us. Dallas winning percentage is .389. They are so close to becoming the top of the food chain.

I hate 2 straight Monday night games even worse.

Get rid of Thursday night games except for Thanksgiving. Teams that do play on Thanksgiving should have their bye the week before so they aren't playing on 4 days rest.

Get rid of games overseas as well.

Already had that in the 90s. Scrapped in 93 if I recall correctly. Fans hated it, and would still hate it so it is for sure coming to the Goodell NFL. Might as well make it 4 bye weeks while they are at it, and make every game an 80 dollar ppv.

Well, between the 18 game push and more international games likely, I can see 2 byes. I have no issue with a bye week, fwiw. It is a good idea for the safety of the players and so forth. However, I think 2 is likely soon.

I guess you have to be a player in the nfl to understand the importance of a bye week. It's easy to say there shouldn't be a need for a bye week, from the comfort of your couch, without having to put in weekly grueling work that nfl players do.

EXACTLY. All these keyboard athletes and couch gladiators that are allergic to a dumbell.Let alone getting hit by other grown men.

YOU'VE HEARD ME SAY THIS!!!!!!! For the last several years I've said this loudly, let's make it fair for everyone and let everyone have a bye at the same time. The league will miss out on money, they'll be fine I'm sure. Hell make an NFL event like a championship flag football game or something!

Someone also mentioned with all the games, give each team two bye weeks, I don't know how I feel about that
It's not about what is fair. It's not about what is better for the league or the game anymore. Every move made is about making more money. Not losing money. Did we need a 17th game or 7th playoff team? Absolutely not. Soon they'll add to both. Neither does anything for the game.

I actually endorse the continued use of the electoral college.
