Pressure, indeed, matters. It means the passer was affected. It doesn't mean that the pass is always incomplete/ intercepted, but more often than not it has a negative effect for the offense. This is sort of a weird thread to make after Cowboys beat the Saints. I think we only sacked Brees twice, but he was definitely affected by the pressure. That int at the end was caused by pressure.
Pressure.....remove head from rectum. The stat I hate the most. The participation trophy for defensive lineman. Well you almost got there, here's a sticker. If it doesn't lead to a negative offensive play it's worthless. That is all.
What exactly do you say to someone who doesn't have the slightest understanding of how pressure affects the QB?The stat I hate the most. The participation trophy for defensive lineman. Like I said if the pressure results in negative offensive play.... Joe Montana was pressured on "the catch" didn't work out to well much to my dismay. This is sort of a weird thread to make after Cowboys beat the Saints. Not criticising defense at all. Just random thoughtsThere was at least one play I recall where they had Brees for a sack but failed to wrap him up. He then stepped up and completed a pass to keep a drive alive, which was indeed bad. Overall though, it's really hard to criticize the defense this game because they in fact won it.

If anything, it's the opposite. Consistent pressure is much more important than counting sacks. So, looks like the OP has it backwards!!!!
If a qb qteps up in pocket avoiding outside pressure delivering strike to receiver for first down said pressure was worthless! Sorry if you can't grasp that. Now if you wanna say constantly driven into the turf after each pass that's different. What exactly do you say to someone who doesn't have the slightest understanding of how pressure affects the QB?

Got a lot of those participation trophy's do ya? Good for youPressure.....remove head from rectum.
Did you NOT SEE what it did to one of the best QB's in football?
Psssst...If the screen is black.....the telly isn't on.
What you're failing to grasp is that if you can consistently get into the QB's face, you will affect how he plays. You do not have to drive him into the turf to affect him.If a qb qteps up in pocket avoiding outside pressure delivering strike to receiver for first down said pressure was worthless! Youngsters / millennials love participation trophy's. Should have been a clue. I get it just fine. You think getting close is good. I wonder what Lombardi, Landry, Noll would prefer.Man, you really aren't getting it. I take it you're a youngster?
